Most of the albums i 'll post made many millions for the music industry and a lot of what i intend to post still gets repackaged and remastered decades later, squeezing the last drop of profit out of bands that for the most part have ceased to exist long ago, although sometimes they get lured out of the mothballs to do a big bucks gig or tour. Now i'm not as naive to post this kinda music for all to see and have deleted, these will be a black box posts, i'm sorry for those on limited bandwidth but for most of you a gamble will get you a quality rip don't like it, deleting is just 2 clicks...That said i will try to accommodate somewhat and produce some cryptic info on the artist and or album.

Today's mystery album is a 1971 concept album by today's artist. The Lolita-esque pseudo-autobiographical plot involves the middle-aged man unintentionally colliding his Rolls Royce Silver Ghost into teenage nymphet Melody's bicycle, and the subsequent seduction and romance that ensues. Today's album is considered by many critics and fans to be today's artist's most influential and accomplished album. The French edition of Rolling Stone magazine named this album the 4th greatest French rock album of all time. At just under twenty-eight minutes, the short running time and the stylistic consistency and similarity throughout the album gives it qualities more in line with an extended musical piece with a number of movements. It‘s a mix of freewheeling guitar, funk style bass guitar, near spoken word vocal delivery, and lush, deep orchestrated string and choral arrangements by Jean-Claude Vannier. Here today with the bonus containing alternate takes of all seven tracks as well as instrumental and vocal versions of the excised track "Melody Lit Babar."

What is still somewhat little-known, even to fans of the album, the 28min, shot on videotape visualization of the album created by the artist and director Jean-Christophe Averty, and starring himself and Jane Birkin. It's quite something, a visual feast. First off, how do you go wrong with a soundtrack like this one? You don’t. And secondly, who was cooler and more elegantly wasted than the artist, hisself, circa 1971?. And my third point, Birkin was so freakishly beautiful then (and still is), so when she’s actually moving onscreen, it’s just a bonus. In fact, considering at the time no computers were available, this defacto extended videoclip is visually amazing, 5 years before the Bohemian Rhapsody clip.Trust me, this one is worth your time, if you’re not already a fan of the mystery album, you will be…
