All dead Mediafire links have been relinked, i started reuploading the Orange ones too, meanwhile 808 State, FSOL , Meat Beat Manifesto, Bola , Colourbox, Barry Adamson, The Sugarhill Story from the first Rhotations have been revived. The rest will follow this week.

A small recap of last weeks episode Fit 2

After the initial narration, the episode opens with a recap of the cliffhanger with the Vogon captain demanding what Ford and Arthur thought of his poem. They attempt to flatter him to avoid execution, but he decides to throw them off the ship anyway. Whilst being escorted to the airlock, Ford attempts to persuade the Vogon guard to give up his job, but fails.

The pair are spaced. Improbably, they are rescued after 29 seconds, by a starship. After some more improbable events they discover they have been picked up by the Starship Heart of Gold, which has been stolen by Ford's semi-cousin, and President of the Galaxy, Zaphod Beeblebrox. The Heart of Gold works on a basis of infinite improbability, allowing its drive to do anything for which the improbability factor is known.

Also on the Heart of Gold are Trillian (Tricia McMillan), whom Arthur met at a party in Islington, before she left the party (and the planet) to go with Zaphod Beeblebrox, and Marvin, a depressed android. The episode ends with a post-credit announcement from Eddie the Shipboard Computer that the ship is moving into orbit around the legendary planet of Magrathea.

Sundaze (03)

Hello, as announced yesterday more work from Mark Pritchard and Tom Middleton. Global Communication was a futuristic concept 13 years ago and these days a common everyday matter. This blog has had visitors from well over a hundred different countries and that's something that aint that special these days, yet this extend of global communications had hardly been concieved back then. The only thing to compare it with is the invention of the printing process some 500 years ago.It enabled the distribution of books/knowledge , the same thing is happening now on an until recently unimaginable scale. Back then it resulted in the roman-catholic church and their wordly representatives loosing their grip on the people. As such, this history is repeating again and as everything happens much more quickly these days this time it doesnt take centuries but decades maybe even less. The outcome is in the balance as the tools of the powers that be are much more destructive and most of them lack grounding in any morals, save those that consider themselves gods representative on earth, these are of cause the most dangerous, blinded as they are by satan(to use their lingo). Alas, we will have to expose them to themselves for what they really are, if we fail... Well this world will quickly forget about us...whats 10,000 years in the life time of a planet..a blip.

Free from the incestuous trends of the large city, Mark Pritchard and Tom Middleton shape their art in their own Evolution studio, two hours south of London in Somerset. As a production team, Pritchard and Middleton have simple goals: 1) ignore convention; 2) be creative without compromise. And they are succeeding, as Global Communication, their best-known moniker, they released the critically acclaimed 76:14, their long-anticipated follow-up to Pentamerous Metamorphosis, an astounding remix CD of Chapterhouse's Blood Music album of 1993. As Reload, Pritchard and Middleton released the refreshingly original A Collection of Short Stories, a dark and eclectic album of imagery that is accompanied by pieces of short prose written exclusively for the music.

I just played these two albums back to back, 2,5 hours of aural bliss...i wish you all a good Sundaze .........and btw all  those dead mediafire links will be history tomorrow...yes !

Reload - A Collection Of Short Stories (93 Flac 362mb)

Welcome to "A Collection Of Short Stories" a contemporary anthology of duo-sensory fiction.

In this volume each musical composition represents a story, in the same sense that eachis based on a set of characters, situations and experiencesfrom fact and fiction, which provoke and evoke an emotional response. far from being music, eachpiece is a portrait and a legacy. The textual stories are a selection of right justified thoughts and feelings of an individual, correlating with only some of the music. the gaps are created by the more personal works waiting to be enjambed by the listener. thhere is choice here, but whether you choose to acknowledge the "soundtracks" without films or 'Fables without morals' as the real 'Collection', the real short stories are the montages of moods and emotions in your own mind.
And that is the greatest fiction of all. ...Dominic Fripp

Reload, originally, was a Mark Pritchard solo project. Later, Tom Middleton joined Pritchard on some of his Reload releases, eventually, as Tom became more heavily involved on the Reload "A Collection of Short Stories" album, Reload came to mean both Mark Pritchard and Tom Middleton. Reload, in its current incarnation, is again, Mark Pritchard alone.

Global Communcation - 76:14 (94 * 432mb)

76:14 was voted by the Guardian as the best ambient album of the nineties, and it has clearly influence a lot of musicians since its release. In the summer of 1994 Dedicated finally released Global Communication's album: rhythmic, warm, and spacious. We all stopped to listen. The anticipated 76:14 came complete with album graphics and song titles that reflect Pritchard and Middleton's intent of making music that transcends language, border, and preconception: a simple icon of an ear graces the plain white cover, album and individual tracks entitled only by their length.

Beneath the visual ambiguities of 76:14 is an expanding plain, a playground for thoughts and emotions to unfold in a number of colors. The liner notes inside 76:14 explain it all: "Use your imagination: Numbers are chosen to identify separate tracks because names tend to bias the listener by pre-defining images, places and feelings. This gives the listener the freedom of imagination to derive whatever he/she wishes from the music." Although intended to be an open canvas for the listener, ghosts of the artists travel in the shadows of 76:14, and one can't help but wonder how much of them remained behind in the mix?
76:14 is a beautiful, drifting piece of musical ambience, it's emotional, genuinely warm, moving, quiet, floating and reflective, perfect for a Sundaze.

Into BPM (03)

Had a very busy day today, meanwhile the relinking nears the end another 30 or so, i hope Orange space will return soon otherwise i'll can go straight on relinking those. Meanwhile today i use a new spaceprovider Megashares..let me know if it works for you.

Leftfield straight away really hit it home for me, in fact most that got to hear Leftism were taken by it. It's a pity that after the second album, and all the attention and remix work they did the the spirit to go on together was gone, in a sense theyw ere too pinholed by us. How different the other duo, right from the start they opened up to and produced a range of music under different monikers today and tomorrow i will post a lot of their diverse work. Starting with the elektro funk of the Jedi Knights, who as such pop up on the Evolution label (theirs) sampler where they appear under diverse names and with some friends work, notably Matthew Herbert. They certainly showed to be ahead of the game here, and so they were with their ambient classic 76:14 under the global Communication moniker that will appear tomorrow at the Sundaze post.

Leftfield - A Final Hit (03 Flac 483MB)

Leftfield were a duo of electronica artists and record producers, Paul Daley (formerly of The Rivals, A Man Called Adam and the Brand New Heavies) and Neil Barnes, formed in 1989 in London, England. The name Leftfield was originally used simply by Neil Barnes for the first single Not Forgotten but after this Paul Daley was involved firstly in remixing songs and then in the creation of following music. The pair were pioneers in the fields of intelligent dance music and progressive house, being among the first to fuse house music with dub and reggae. Their first major hit was "Open Up", a collaboration with John Lydon; soon followed by their debut album, Leftism in 1995, blending dub, breakbeat, and techno especially called "UK-dub". Part of their genius lies in their ability to bring warmth and spirituality to so-called machine music.Part of Leftism's crossover - and Leftfield's retention of club cool -- can be attributed to the savvy use of guest vocalists. "Original" pits Curve's Toni Halliday against moody trip-hop, thereby inventing Garbage two years early, while the artist formerly known as Johnny Rotten's banshee prophecy of a burning Hollywood over the caning house rhythms of "Open Up" still sounds incendiary. It was shortlisted for the 1995 Mercury Music Prize but lost-out to Portishead's "Dummy". Where Leftism was sprawling, deep, seemingly all-knowing, their second album Rhythm and Stealth is ruthlessly minimal. Considering it explores the same broad range of tempos and styles (ambient, dub, hip-hop, house, techno) as its predecessor, but Rhythm and Stealth is dominated by a slavishly digital, no-frills aesthetic. The now-notorious chug of "Phat Planet" a distorted, quasi-bass rumble that doesn't so much invade your space as occupy your territory, no wonder it got used under a beercommercial then. They infamously had a number of gigs shut down and were banned from Brixton Academy due to their sound systems being way above legal noise levels, with certain basslines actually causing structural damage.2001 and after 12 years of sonic experimentation, Paul Daley and Neil Barnes decided to pull the plug on Leftfield, and pursue solo projects .

Jedi Knights - New School Science ( 96 *Flac 427mb)

No other electronic dance act made so many recordings in such a wide range of styles (and with such impressive results) as the duo of Mark Pritchard and Tom Middleton. After coming together in 1991, the pair began recording music whose range spanned all of electronic dance music, though many were recorded under aliases -- industrial techno as Reload, electro-funk as Jedi Knights, progressive house as Link, jungle as the Chameleon, and most famously, ambient and house as Global Communication. Their 1994 LP 76:14, recorded as Global Communication, was a notable high point of the early-'90s ambient house movement.

The partnership began in 1991, when Pritchard and Middleton formed Evolution Records (named after a Carl Craig track) to release their own dancefloor-oriented house and techno. (Middleton had previously recorded with Aphex Twin while Pritchard had been half of the duo Shaft, responsible for the British Top Ten rave hit "Roobarb & Custard"). The first three releases on Evolution were EPs recorded as Reload by Pritchard/Middleton in 1992-1993 -- The Reload, The Autoreload, and The Biosphere. The records were excellent Detroit-inspired tracks, brooding and eerie but nonetheless highly danceable. Reload first gained fame on the Infonet label (the brief dance subsidiary launched by Creation Records) with an EP and the 1994 full-length A Collection of Short Stories. Global Communication, which matched the unsettling ambience of Reload but with a focus on warmer rhythms, debuted on Evolution 004, otherwise known as The Keongaku EP. Though Global Communication's full-length debut Pentamerous Metamorphosis followed soon after, it wasn't quite a proper album per se; it was in fact an extended remix of Chapterhouse's Blood Music LP.

With the ambient house boom in full force by 1994, Pritchard and Middleton's downtempo project became more important than Reload. They signed to Dedicated and released 76:14 in mid-1994. The album later gained an American release, and made many critics' best-of lists that year. Global Communication released Remotion in late 1995, though this album consisted of remixes also, including material from the out of print Pentamerous Metamorphosis LP along with reworkings of material by Jon Anderson, Nav Katze, and Warp 69.

Never a team to rest on their laurels, Pritchard and Middleton added another side project to their resumé in late 1994 when Jedi Knights released the debut single for nu-school electro label Clear Records. Though a full-length was more than a year in coming -- New School Science appeared in March 1996 -- the debut 12" sparked an electro revival in England. Jedi Knights also appeared on the May 1995 label retrospective The Theory of Evolution along with other Evolution projects such as Reload, Link & e621, and non-Pritchard/Middleton artists such as Jak & Stepper (aka Dave Kempston and Stevie Horn) and Matt Herbert's Wish Mountain project.

Evolution was soon replaced by Pritchard and Middleton's new label venture: Universal Language Productions, the home of new releases by Gerd, Max 404, Danny Breaks, and Droppin' Science, among others. The duo also debuted yet another project in early 1996 -- the Chameleon had first appeared in 1994 remixing Link's "Archetype Arcadian," and as jungle began to grow in popularity during 1995-1996, LTJ Bukem signed the Chameleon to his Good Looking stable for the single "Links." It appeared in January 1996, and was compiled later that year on Bukem's Logical Progression compilation.

Perhaps fearful of spreading themselves too thin, Pritchard and Middleton cut back on their side-project work by early 1997; though no LPs were forthcoming, the pair did issue two new Global Communication singles ("The Way/The Deep," "The Groove") signaling a new direction toward the lush sounds of dancefloor-friendly deep house and funk. Middleton also stepped out on his own with A Jedi's Night Out, an entry in Mixmag's series of DJ albums. By the end of the decade, both were working on solo projects (Middleton's Cosmos project produced a big Ibizan club hit during 2000 with "Summer in Space"), though they promised they'd work together again.
One of the more endearing pseudonyms of Global Communication's Tom Middleton and Mark Pritchard, Jedi Knights spearheaded Britain's electro revival of 1994-95 with the single "May the Funk Be with You." Resembling nothing so much as a fusion of electro-funk with the cantina band from Star Wars, Jedi Knights also released a rare GC-related full-length, 1995's New School Science. The duo continued to use Jedi Knights, for big-beat frenzy on singles like "Big Knockers" and "Catch the Break."

The fifties was a watershed period for popular musi, the early half of the decade had been dominated by ballad singers and big bands, but in 54 The babyboom teenagers Bill Haley released Shake Ratte and roll and Rock around the clock and the whole musical picture transformed. the babyboom teens got their own singers and groups to follow, people that represented their dreams , ambitions and frustrations. you may not have heard of some of these names but they all made solid contributions to this new music scene. Some have became international stars, there's a stack of goodies here and plenty to dance to. Marvin Gaye - Live At The London Palladium (77 * 498mb)

Marvin Gaye's real name was Marvin Pentz Gay Jr.. He was born on April 2nd, 1939, & died on Arpril 1st, 1984. This man was a master of soul but with a very troubled background. After starting his recording career as a drummer at Motown, he changed his name from Marvin Gay to Marvin Gaye, adding the 'e' to separate himself from his father's name, to stop gossiping about his sexuality and also did it in earnest of his idol, Sam Cooke, who also added an 'e' to his last name. Gaye quickly became Motown's top solo male artist and scored numerous hits during the 1960s. With his successful 1971 album What's Going On and subsequent releases including Trouble Man and Let's Get It On, Gaye, who was a part-time songwriter for Motown artists during his early years with the label, proved that he could write and produce his own singles without having to rely on the Motown system. He released several other notable albums, including Let's Get It On and I Want You, and had hits with singles such as "Let's Get It On", "Got to Give It Up", and, in the early 1980s, "Sexual Healing".

Throughout his life he was torn between the Bible and the bedroom. Heavily into drugs, involved in a failing marriage and so Gaye's career took a dive in the late 70's but then in 1982 he had a smash hit with Sexual Healing. That year, he returned to live with his parents until that fateful day, when he was shot by his father (a preacher) after a heated argument on a Sunday morning. A truly great soul singer.

Public Image Limited - The Flowers Of Romance (now in Flac 291mb)

Public Image Ltd. (PiL) originally was a quartet led by singer John Lydon (formerly Johnny Rotten, born January 31, 1956) and guitarist Keith Levene, who had been a member of the Clash in one of its early lineups. The band was filled out by bassist Jah Wobble (John Wordle) and drummer Jim Walker. It was formed in the wake of the 1978 breakup of Lydon's former group, the Sex Pistols. For the most part, it devoted itself to droning, slow-tempo, bass-heavy noise rock, overlaid by Lydon's distinctive, rant. The group's debut single, "Public Image," was more of an up-tempo pop/rock song, however, and it hit the U.K. Top Ten upon its release in October 1978. The group itself debuted on Christmas Day, shortly after the release of its first album, Public Image.

Metal Box, the band's second U.K. album, came in the form of three 12", 45 rpm discs in a film canister. It was released in the U.S. in 1980 as the double-album Second Edition. (By this time, PiL was a trio consisting of Lydon, Levene, and Wobble.) The third album, not released in the U.S., was the live Paris au Printemps (1980). Lydon and Levene, plus hired musicians, made up the group by the time of The Flowers of Romance (1981). In 1983, PiL scored its biggest U.K. hit, when "This Is Not a Love Song" , by this time, however, Levene had left, and the name from here on would be, more than anything else, a vehicle for John Lydon .

The following year saw the release of This Is What You Want...This Is What You Get, only PiL's third album to be released in the U.S., though it now had six albums out. It marked the start of Lydon's move toward a more accessible dance-rock style, a direction that would be pursued further in Album (1986) as well as on Happy? (1987) and 9 (1989). In 1990, PiL released the compilation album The Greatest Hits, So Far, and in 1991 came the new album That What Is Not. After completing his memoirs in late 1993, Lydon decided to put an end to PiL and pursue a solo career.

The Psychedelic Furs - Talk Talk Talk ( 81 flac 393mb)

The Psychedelic Furs, whose name belies their punk-influenced music, were formed in England in 1977 by brothers Richard Butler (vocals) and Tim Butler (bass), along with saxophone player Duncan Kilburn and guitarist Roger Morris. By the time they released their self-titled debut album in 1980, the group had become a sextet, adding guitarist John Ashton and drummer Vince Ely. That album, featuring Butler's hoarse voice was a successful in England.

Talk Talk Talk (1981) did better, produced two British singles chart entries, one of which was "Pretty in Pink," later also a hit in the U.S. when a new version was used as the title song of a film. Forever Now (1982) saw the band reduced to a quartet with the departure of Kilburn and Morris. The rest moved to the U.S., turned to producer Todd Rundgren, Ely left, and the remaining trio of the two Butlers and Ashton made Mirror Moves (1984), the biggest Psychedelic Furs hit yet.

The film Pretty in Pink helped spread their name further before the release of their next album, Midnight to Midnight (1987), which consequently got good sales. Book of Days (1989) marked the return of Vince Ely, but was a considerable commercial disappointment. World Outside (1991) also failed to find an audience. The Psychedelic Furs then folded up shop, and Richard Butler launched a new group, Love Spit Love.

Beautiful Chaos, a live album capturing some of the band's greatest hits from the 2001 revival tour, was issued in November 2001. Their first live album ever, Beautiful Chaos was a gift for the loyalists. It also introduced their first new song in almost ten years, a somber ballad entitled "Alive."

John Cooper Clarke - Me And My Big Mouth (81 flac  225mb)

Often referred to as "the bard of Salford", he usually refers to himself on stage as "Johnny Clarke, the name behind the hairstyle". In the summer of 1979, when London's Comedy Store became Britain's first alternative comedy club, John Cooper Clarke was already on the front cover of NME. Clarke has opened for such acts as the Sex Pistols, The Fall, Joy Division, Buzzcocks and Elvis Costello and his set was, and still is on occasion, characterized by lively, rapid-fire renditions of his poems, which were usually performed a cappella. Clarke has often been unfairly pigeonholed as a punk poet, and although his poems do describe a similar inner-city landscape in a comparably spare and streetwise style, his importance as a writer and performer stretches far beyond the finite boundaries of seventies New Wave. Clarke's rat-a-tat rhymes are far funnier than the throwaway gags of almost any stand-up, and his dispassionate fast-forward delivery gives them a momentum that's as invigorating as the purest pop music. Yet on the printed page, his perfect couplets often seem far more wistful, as silent readers are suddenly struck by their true literary worth, which puts them right up there with Britain's finest popular verse. Ten Years In An Open Necked Shirt, first published in 1983, remains a masterful slim volume, featuring such high-rise classics as Kung Fu International and I Married A Monster From Outer Space.

01 - (I Married A) Monster From Outer Space (3:34)

The milky way she walks around
All feet firmly off the ground
Two worlds collide, two worlds collide
Here comes the future bride
Gimme a lift to the lunar base
I wanna marry a monster from outer space

I fell in love with an alien being
whose skin was jelly - whose teeth were green
she had the big bug eyes and the death-ray glare
feet like water wings - purple hair
I was over the moon - I asked her back to my place
then I married the monster - from outer space

The days were numbered - the nights were spent
in a rent free furnished oxygen tent........

Around The World (2)

Fado (destiny or fate) is a music genre which can be traced from the 1820s in Portugal, but probably with much earlier origins. It is characterized by mournful tunes and lyrics, often about the sea or the life of the poor. The music is usually linked to the Portuguese word saudade, a word describing a sentiment that is commonly considered to have no accurate translation in any other language. A similar but not accurate English translation might be a lingering, often nostalgic desire .

Some enthusiasts claim that Fado's origins are a mixture of African slave rhythms with the traditional music of Portuguese sailors and Arabic influence. There are two main varieties of fado, namely those of the cities of Lisbon and Coimbra. The Lisbon style is the most popular, while Coimbra's is the more refined style. Fado performances include only a singer, a Portuguese guitar player and a classical guitar player but more recent settings range from singer and string quartet to full orchestra

Mariza - Fado em Mim (02 ^ 419mb)

Mariza, bornin Mozambique, moved to Portugal when she was three, and was raised in one of the most traditional quarters of Lisbon, Mouraria and Alfama, where she learned how to sing fado. She has a Portuguese father but her mother hails from Mozambique. Growing up, and until she became a fado singer, Mariza sang in a wide variety of styles, including gospel, soul and jazz. Released in 2001, Mariza's first album, Fado em Mim, was an instant success in Portugal. This led to her recording company launching the disc internationally and taking advantage of the good reception that Portuguese music was enjoying at the time in Europe and in other countries, such as Mexico and Japan.

When Mariza's second album, Fado Curvo, was released in 2003, she was already considered as one of the best singers of what some call the New Fado movement. Mariza's voice, which harks back to the grand divas of the musical form, like Amália Rodrigues, and her interpretations of fado standards brought her great international recognition in a short amount of time, leading to her being the recipient, in March 2003, of BBC Radio 3's award for Best European Artist in World Music. For the Olympic Games of Athens 2004 she sang "A Thousand Years," as a duet with Sting. It was released on the official pop album of the Athens Olympics, Unity, on which fado is sung in English and Portuguese.

Her third album, Transparente, was recorded in Brazil and released in 2005. Mariza was also one of the artists who performed at Live 8; she sang at the Eden Project in Cornwall. Since that time, Mariza has been invited to a large number of concerts and events to promote Portuguese culture around the whole world, from Australia to Finland, the United States and Argentina. That album eventually reached top ten in countries like Holland, Spain and Finland. Her live album Concerto em Lisboa received in 2007 a Latin Grammy nomination for Best Folk Album. Not her first live release as Live at womad 2002 came limited as a bonus disc with the release i got in 2002.

Don't Panic ! , 2nd Fit

To refresh your memory of last weeks First Fit

As the episode opens Arthur Dent is attempting to prevent the local council, represented by Mr Prosser, from bulldozing his house to make way for a bypass. Dent's friend, Ford Prefect arrives and takes him to the pub. At the pub, Ford explains that he is not from Guildford after all, but from a small planet somewhere in the vicinity of Betelgeuse, and that the world is about to end.

Meanwhile, Lady Cynthia Fitzmelton, a character unique to the radio series, has arrived at the site of Arthur Dent's house. She makes a speech about progress, and the future for the village of Cottington, and insults the residents in the process. She begins the construction of the bypass, and the demolition of Arthur Dent's house, by smashing a bottle of "very splendid and worthwhile" champagne against a yellow bulldozer. Ford and Arthur hear this, and Arthur races back to the former site of his house, Ford chasing after him after first buying some peanuts.

Shortly after Arthur and Ford return to the ruins of Arthur's house, a fleet of Vogon Constructor Ships arrives in the sky, and Prostetnic Vogon Jeltz broadcasts an announcement that they are to demolish the Earth to make way for a hyperspace bypass. Panic ensues. Ford uses his "electronic thumb" to hitch a lift onto one of the ships, taking Arthur with him, just moments before the Earth is destroyed.

On board the Vogon Constructor Ship, Ford explains that he was a field researcher for the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, and had been stuck on the Earth for several more years than he originally expected. The two are soon captured by the Vogons, who take an unfriendly view of hitchhikers.

The episode ends on a cliff-hanger, after the Vogon Captain tortures them by reading them some poetry, with them due to be thrown into space afterwards.(source Wiki)

Sundaze (2)

Hello,
I came across this comment at the Inside Out Worlds post, "odditonic said... Thank you for illegally distributing my music and making it impossible for me to make a living. Your posts are THOUGHTLESS" At the next post my mediafire account was scrapped , it seems this selfcentered git was responsible for it, mind you there isnt any of his music, just the style and format i guess .I found his website, http://www.higher-music.com/ , he should have thanked me for creating interest in his niche, talk about thoughtless.

To the matter at hand, two different styles of ambient here, the post rock of Rothko and the electronic Dubscapes of FSOL and both are very worthwhile.check them out .

Rothko - Forty Years To Find A Voice (00 ^ flac 174mb )

Rothko is a London-based instrumental ambient group. The group mainly uses bass guitars and keyboards to create their soundscapes. They derived their name from the painter Mark Rothko. They have been described as post-rock for their habit of using rock instruments to create non-rock music.Formed in 1997, the original line-up consisted of Mark Beazley, Crawford Blair, and John Meade all playing bass guitar in a variety of different ways. Rothko released 3 albums on Lo Recordings and a host of singles and EPs on other labels before Beazley disbanded the group in 2001. So this album was the last in the original line up.

Since, his first release was a collaboration with Japanese ambient master Susumu Yokota, titled ‘Waters Edge’, a 12" only EP, also on Lo Recordings. In the winter of 2001, a deal with Too Pure Records was signed and, with the help of the group Delicate AWOL, the album ‘A Continual Search For Origins’ based on Marks' travels around Switzerland, was recorded, and released.

In the summer of 2003, Mark started his own label, Trace Recordings. The first release on Trace was the critically acclaimed album ‘Wish For A World Without Hurt’ which was released in September 2003. The album was a collaboration with Washington DC based sound and visual artist, JS (Jim) Adams, otherwise known as BLK w/BEAR. 2005 sees Mark team up with Caroline Ross, of Delicate Awol, on the new album, Rothko and Caroline Ross - ‘A Place Between’ That year also saw the release of Mark's second collaboration with Susumu Yokota, the album 'Distant Sounds Of Summer' . Beazley also provided music for the Discovery Channel documentary "The Flight That Fought Back", about United Airlines Flight 93. In September 2006 the band finished their new album 'Eleven Stages Of Intervention'

Into the BPM (2)

Hello, going into the BPM at the start of the second week of Rhotation. I have to say im a bit dissapointed feedback wise. I've been very busy re-uploading and tracking back have reached Ireland by now. As you may have noted i use several different webspace providers and i ask again here to tell me if you had any particular problems and or good download speeds, if so i wont bother with them anymore. For today i have two early techno crews, over the years 808 state's ex el has had many a spin at my place, great album, full sound , sure there's a little New Order there but thats alright with me, and Bjork well i 'm sure she got a lot of inspiration for "Debut" from working with them, on ex el she sounds awesome . Fluke managed to find their techno feet pretty quick as the bonus album, de facto their first proves. The build a massive remix catalogue as their sound was saught after, meanwhile they scored some big hits. No Atom Bomb here but Six Whheels offers a nice range of what was to come after ..

808 State - ex:el (91 ^ 400mb)

808 State was formed in 1988 in Bury, England by Martin Price, Graham Massey and Gerald Simpson, initially to form a hip-hop group called Hit Squad Manchester. Soon after the band shifted to an acid house sound, and recorded their debut Newbuild in 1988, naming themselves 808 State honoring the impact the Roland TR-808 drummachine had on them. The album was released on Price's own record label. Simpson left the group in 1989 to form his own solo project, A Guy Called Gerald.Martin and Graham enlisted DJs. Andrew Barker and Darren Partington to record the EP Quadrastate and their next album, Ninety, was put them right in the rave culture.

For 1991 Ex:el, they brought in Bernard Sumner (New Order) and ex-Sugarcubes Björk for lyrics and vocals. The album included the hits In Yer Face, Cubik, Olympic & Lift. In 1992, Price left the group to perform solo producing, eventually forming his own label, Sun Text. The remaining members released a fourth album called Gorgeous, and after that, did some remix work for David Bowie, Soundgarden, and other performers, before returning with the album entitled Don Solaris in 1996. This album marked a change for the band who wanted to shake off their rave moniker and, with 'Don Solaris', they aimed to create a more beautiful, cinemascopic sound. They released a greatest-hits compilation named 808:88:98 in 1998-their last on record label ZTT and a 1998 remix of Pacific soared high in the charts. In 2000, their pioneering 1988 acid house album 'Newbuild' was re-released.In 2003 came their last release thusfar Outpost Transmission .

Fluke - Six Wheels On My Wagon (93 * 460mb)

To date Fluke have produced five original studio albums, two "best of" compilations and two live albums. Throughout their career they have made several changes to their line-up with credited appearances attributed to Neil Davenport playing guitars, Robin Goodridge on drums and Hugh Bryder as a DJ. Formed in the late 1980's by three friends living together in London, Fluke started out making dreamy pop before the explosion of acid house influenced them. It was the growing electronica sound that influenced their early singles and their techno-rock debut album The Techno Rose Of Blighty. They signed with Virgin for their next albums Six Wheels On My Wagon (1993) and , the following year Fluke released their third album, Oto, which is the Greek for "of the ear". In terms of style, Oto was somewhat darker than Six Wheels on my Wagon, focusing on the downbeat ambient effects which were present in the second half of Six Wheels. Fluke proved to be a driving force in the progressive house and trip-hop scenes.
In 1996 they released "Atom Bomb", originally created as a soundtrack to the video game Wipeout 2097, it became the centrepiece of their next album, Risotto. It was a runaway success in 1997 and 1998, powered by the cartoony big-beat of "Atom Bomb" and the gentle breakbeat track "Reeferendum". After enjoying worldwide touring for several years, Fluke took time off to expand their already-massive remixography, releasing the retrospective Progressive History X in 2001. Their latest and most mature album, Puppy, followed in mid-2003, this time incorporating Jon Fugler and Mike Bryant only.

Into The Groove

Hello, the weekend is coming up so we go Into the groove; R n B, Disco, Funk, Old School Hip Hop, as it happens most of my RnB, Disco, Funk is on vinyl, and i have no time at the moment to rip these, too busy re-uploading (past Japan now) . That said i do have a lot of old school rap/hip hop on cd so expect these first weeks more of that.
To the outside world rap started with Rappers Delight,, a 14 min marathon that got every hip moving. It opened up the way for generations of rappers to come, how ? Well it was clear there was money to be made with it. There were messages to be spread and there were dancefloors to be filled after disco had been cloned to death by the industry. On the other side , the new portable music gizmo's asked for street music,. With cheap samplers guys like Schooly D could free style with beats and sounds, rapping about the life around him, full of violence, drugs , bravado and making music. Some great tracks there

Genius Of Rap, The Sugarhill Story ( 87 * 468mb)

Sugar Hill Records was the name of a rap music record label that was founded by husband and wife Joe and Sylvia Robinson with financial funding of Morris Levy, the owner of Roulette Records. The label's first record was "Rapper's Delight" (1979) by The Sugarhill Gang. This pioneering group inaugurated the history of recorded hip-hop with their multi-platinum seller and radio hit in 1979. The group was created to profit on a supposed novelty item. New Jersey-based producer and indie label owner Sylvia Robinson had become aware of the massive hip-hop block parties occurring around the New York City area during the late '70s, so she gathered three locals from her town: Guy O'Brien, who was the original Master Gee; another local rapper, Michael Wright, who called himself Wonder Mike, and non-rapper Big Bank Hank. The vocalists were then teamed up with three session musicians, including future Living Color/On U bassist Doug Wimbish. Together, they recorded all of the Sugarhill Gang’s work. Afterwards The Sequence, Grandmaster Flash and Melle Mel joined the label. Sugar Hill's in-house producer and arranger was Clifton "Jiggs" Chase.

In the early 1980s, the Robinsons bought Levy out. However, problems started soon afterwards. Artists began to leave the label, a distribution deal with MCA Records fell through, and finally the label closed down in 1986 due to financial troubles. In 1995, Rhino Records purchased all the released and unreleased masters owned by the Sugar Hill label.

Schoolly D - The Adventures Of Schoolly-D (87 * 483 mb)

Schoolly D is the moniker of American rapper Jesse B. Weaver. He was a pioneer of Hardcore rap and the pioneer of Gangsta Rap, being one of the first rappers to embrace an antisocial persona without explicit irony. The first record that came out along those lines was Schoolly D's "P.S.K." Musically, Schoolly D and his DJ Code Money came up with electronic hardcore beats. Long before the debate about gangsta rap lyrics became an easy way to get national newsprint, there was outrage over Schoolly D's explicit and undiluted narratives on inner city strife. Saturday Night in 1987 and Smoke Some Kill in 1988 had city officials openly endorsing removal of the albums from record stores.Later on, Schoolly embraced the afrocentric style, working together with KRS-One. He too contributed songs and music to many Abel Ferrara films He has continued in the same vein with 1993's Am I Black Enough for You and 1996's Gangster's Story. His career got a bit of a boost after the Chemical Brothers sampled him on their 1997 Dig Your Own Hole album, creating a bit of interest in a rapper few of the late '90s youth were familiar with. The Adventures Of Schoolly-D is a Japan 'only' sampler of his work up to 87, 12 "and his first to albums Achoolly D and Saturdaynight-the Album hardcore beats with a minimalistic touch (poorly lit alleys atmosphere)

Hello , Alphabet soup coming up. As i hadnt yet a theme for thursdays , when i noticed the Hitchikers series taking 26 weeks,it triggered well thats the alphabet. There are so many records that don't really fit into this or that catagory here i thought well, ill run down from A to Z with those. Aphrodites Child's 666 (apocalypse) album is such a work, originally a double album and surprisingly alowed, as the number of the beast, or man as the cover states has many a supersticious corner shiver. Anyway quiet a daring undertaking in times when prog was sci-fi/fantasy inspired, to attempt to bring home the Apocalypse in music. I think Vangelis And Rousos Aphrodite's main children did rather well, but you can judge that yourself if you want. The second offering by Barry Adamson isnt 'light' either, in fact "Moss Side Story" was a rather daring first solo album.

PS good news for my friends from Lima, i re-upped and upgraded last years (10/18/06) Wednesdays post, so Modern Eon, Scars, Will Powers and the Pi the moviesoundtrack are available once more  Wednesdays..again

Aphrodite's Child - 666 (71 * 120mb)

When Vangelis and Rousos got together in 67 each already had some music history the plan was going to London and record there. On their way to London, they got stuck in Paris partially because they did not have the correct work permits and partially because of the strikes associated with the May 1968 events.

In Paris they signed to Mercury Records, christened "Aphrodite's Child" and released their first single "Rain and Tears", a reworking of Pachelbel's Canon in D major. With this song the band became an overnight sensation in France and several other European countries in which the single charted well, despite the song being sung in English and not French. In October of the same year, the band released their first album End of the World. The album contained an equal amount of psychedelic pop songs and ballads in the vein of Procol Harum or The Moody Blues. After extensive touring the second album, the rootsier "Let me love, let me live" came out in October, while the album It's five o'clock came out in December 1969 featuring more successful ballads (like the title song) but also songs that crossed many musical genres. The new tour was without Vangelis as he fancied staying and working in Paris.

The band began to record their magnum opus late in 1970: a musical adaptation of the biblical Book of Revelation, entitled 666. Relations between all the band members were not good at the time, and continued to worsen during the album's creation. Essentially, 666 was Vangelis' concept, created with an outside lyricist, Costas Ferris. The music that Vangelis was creating for 666 was much more psychedelic and progressive rock oriented than anything the band had done before. This did not sit well with the other band members, who wished to continue in the pop direction that had brought them success. By the time the double LP 666 finally came out in late 1971, and after having sold over 20 million albums the band split. Both Vangelis and Demis Roussos pursued successful solo careers, Roussos as a pop singer and Vangelis as one of the pioneers in electronic music.

Barry Adamson - Moss Side Story (88 ^ 114mb)

Adamson left school and shifted into graphic design but quit shortly after, favouring to venture into the exploding punk rock scene of the late '70s. He joined ex-Buzzcocks singer Howard Devoto's band Magazine, playing bass guitar Barry played on all of Magazine's albums, and contributed to Devoto's solo album and his next band, Luxuria. He also contributed to the studio band Visage, playing in the ensemble's first two albums, Visage and The Anvil. After Magazine broke up, Adamson worked with another ex-Buzzcock, Pete Shelley, before joining Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds. He appeared in the first four of their albums: Then in 88 he decided to release his first solo album, Moss Side Story. His solo work is influenced by John Barry, Elmer Bernstein and Ennio Morricone. Later works have included jazz, electronica, soul, funk, and dub styles. Adamson eventually began composing soundtracks for films, including Gas Food Lodging and Lost Highway. Adamson has forged his own highly acclaimed solo career with a series of distinctive and thematically linked soundscape albums.( Moss Side Story 89, Soul Murder 92, The Negro Inside Me 93, Oedipus Schmoedipus 96, As Above, So Below 98, The Murky World of Barry Adamson 99, King of Nothing Hill 02 and Stranger on the Sofa 06.

Matia Bazar - Melanchólia (85 ^ 233mb)

Matia Bazar was founded by Aldo Stilita in Genoa in 1975. Their first big break came with the 1978 Festival di Sanremo, where their song "E Dirsi Ciao" won an award. The festival was televised on Intervision, giving the band their first international audiences and helping to establish them in Europe, the United States, and Mexico. In 1979, they completed their first tour of Europe and South America and won an honorable mention for their song "Raggio di Luna" at the Eurovision song contest. In the early ' 80s, Piero Cassano left the group and was replaced by Sergio Cossu, who helped push the band into a new electronic phase of their career. Every aspect of their sound became electronic, with the exception of Ruggiero's vocals. Their music ranged from the electronic sounds that were gracing the discotheques of the time to the label their music, "tango-rock." The band was releasing albums and singles at a dizzying pace up through the mid-'80s: recording during the autumn and winter, releasing in the spring, and touring in the summer, every year.

1986's release Mel'o, which had been their most successful album to date, marked the end of their electronic era, and after 1988's Red Corner, Antonella Ruggiero left the band and they went on hiatus until 1991 when they changed labels and hired a new vocalist, Laura Valente. Valente had been hired as a pianist and vocalist, but she also proved to be a skilled guitarist and made a major contribution to the band's new sound. After a prolonged tour, Carlo Marrale left the group and for the first time it became a quartet. 1997 brought a successful album, Benvenuti a Sausalito, and in 1998 founding member Aldo Stilita left the group because of a long illness. Matia Bazar regrouped and in 1999 signed a new recording contract with group members Piero Cassano, Silvia Midnight, Giancarlo Golzi, and Fabio Perversi.

Colourbox - Colourbox (85 ^ 436mb)

Formed in 1982 by brothers Martyn and Steven Young, Colourbox drew on influences as varied as blues, soul, rock, dub and funk, they combined elements from each with movie dialogue and weird and wonderful samples. Colourbox's self-titled debut EP -- a collection of dub and scratching experiments heralding their first plunge into sampling technology, edited down from three hours of studio sessions -- appeared later that same year, with the single "Say You" following in 1984. After another 12-inch, "Punch," the group issued 1985's "The Moon Is Blue," a teaser for their first full album, 'Colourbox', which garnered great reviews and topped the UK independent chart in 1985

Colourbox's idiosyncratic approach to music left journalists struggling to pin down their identity; they deliberately stayed out of the spotlight and focused on refining their sound. A string of singles followed, among them 'The Official Colourbox World Cup Theme' and a reworking of the Augustus Pablo track, 'Baby I Love You So'.

It was in 1987 that the Young brothers broke out of the indie charts as M/A/R/R/S, with the genre-defining track, 'Pump Up The Volume'. A collaboration with A.R. Kane, Chris CJ Mackintosh and Dave Dorrell, the single went from underground club anthem to UK National No.1. 'Pump Up The Volume' marked the beginning of the sampling era. Plans for a follow-up never materialized, however; stranger still, despite M/A/R/R/S' success both the Youngs and Colourbox seemed to vanish, with no future recordings forthcoming.

1000 Mexicans - Dance Like Ammunition * (85 ^ 92mb)

1000 Mexicans (Julian Griffin, Michael Harding, Andrew Hobday)were one of the most innovative and creative independent bands of the 1980s, combining quality pop songwriting and rhythmic and harmonic richness with their unique touches of experimentalism and eccentricity.
Described by one journalist as "the musical equivalent of the 70s Dutch team with their total football", the trio of Julian Griffin, Michael Harding and Andrew Hobday exchanged vocal and instrumental duties at the drop of a sombrero, "mixing melody and mayhem in equal measure." Their first single The Art of Love provoked Melody Maker reviewer Adam Sweeting to enthuse "The way things are going it won't be long before 1000 Mexicans are the best band in the world." They went on to release 4 more singles including the classic The Last Pop Song and Under Construction, a hit in Spain and Portugal, as well as the LP Dance like Ammunition

Despite success in Europe and consistent critical acclaim, they never found favour with the UK record industry who appeared confused by their singular brand of humour and sometimes anarchic live shows. The 'hi-flying Burrito Brothers' eventually found themselves in a tangle of bad management and publishing agreements that strangled their creative momentum
and finally their will to live. * Note this is a cassette rip

Around The World

Hello, i thought after around the universe on monday i'd stay a little closer, my world. Now the Sunshine tour is just over so just one title today, and as wasyesterday the case the artist is no longer with us-in the flesh. Now i didnt know that before i grabbed her from the shelf, neither did i know she'd been such a big star in Israel, with numerous hits and platinum records, a real celebrity. What i did know was that when i bought this album the it was a great album with middle eastern song and instruments, that it got sampled into Eric B and Rakims mega hit Paid in full, and into M.A.R.R.S.' seminal "Pump Up the Volume" as well.

Ofra Haza - Yemenite Songs (85 ^ 91mb)

Of Yemenite Jewish ancestry, Haza was born the youngest of nine children in the poor Tel Aviv neighborhood of Hatikvah. She became an instant local and then national success story, the subject of great pride for many Israelis of Yemenite origin. Her voice has been described as mezzo-soprano, of near-flawless tonal quality, capable of lending itself to a variety of musical styles with apparent ease.

Inspired by a love of her Yemenite-Jewish culture, the appeal of her musical art quickly spread to a wider Middle Eastern audience, somehow bridging the divide between Israel and the Arab countries. As her career progressed, the multi-lingual Haza was able to switch between traditional and more commercial singing styles without jeopardising her credibility. Her mother taught her the ancient melodies, which led to Haza recording Yemenite Songs in 1985, which featured traditional instruments as well as lyrics drawn from the 16th century poetry of Shalom Shabazi; not only a major hit at home, the album was also a worldbeat smash in England as well. With 1988's Shaday, she turned away from traditional sounds to pursue more dance-flavored material.

Ofra Haza died at the age of 42 on the 23rd February 2000 – the cause being widely reported as organ failure or pneumonia, reportedly arising from HIV/AIDS (Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome) complications. On 15 July 1997 Haza had married businessman Doron Ashkenazi. They had no children together. Ashkenazi suicided 2001, on an overdose of crystallized cocaine. He was suspected of having infected Haza with the HIV virus. His family did an autopsy test after his death but refused to reveal the results.

Don't Panic !

Whilst lying on his back on a greek beech admiring the night sky expanse, possibly somewhat intoxicated by ouzo, a romantic idea came to our young writer, who's knowledge of the galaxy above and beyond was rather limited. Wouldn't it be nice to have a hitchhiking guide for the galaxy ? This for a young man who just discovered an edge from his own continent was the luminous idea, that against all odds put that dwellar on the planet Earth on a road to stardom.

The cosmos must be full of even stranger beings then the writer's homeplanet possess, though i suspect here that he must have sucked up plenty of the local crankyness, to have his readership understand the absurdity of life anywhere else but between these reception dishes, one's own ears. Now i said readership, when in fact that came later, for it really was between those ears where The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy started it's life, courtesy of the BBC radio 4. The series of best-selling novels, a TV series, a record album, a computer game, several stage adaptations and even a movie, all flowed from the succes of the initial radioplays.

Undisturbed by all that success, the writer spawned; The Restaurant at the End of the Universe (1980); Life, The Universe and Everything (1982); So Long and Thanks for all the Fish (1984); and Mostly Harmless (1992). The first two books in the Hitchhiker series were adapted into a 6 part television series, which was an immediate success when first aired in 1982. Other publications include Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency (1987) and Long Dark Tea-time of the Soul (1988). In 1984 the writer teamed up with John Lloyd and wrote The Meaning of Liff and after a huge success The Deeper Meaning of Liff followed this in 1990. One of the writer's all-time personal favourites was written in 1990 when he teamed up with zoologist Mark Carwardine and wrote Last Chance to See – an account of a world-wide search for rare and endangered species of animals.

So who's this writer , well Douglas Adams was born in Cambridge in March 1952, educated at Brentwood School, Essex and St John's College, Cambridge where, in 1974 he gained a BA (and later an MA) in English literature, pedigree for sure.

When Douglas won his first Golden Pan (for 1,000,000 paperback sales of HHGG) in 1984, it was the quickest that any Pan book had ever reached that figure. He won two further Golden Pans, for Restaurant at the End of the Universe, and Life, The Universe & Everything..He sold over 15 million books in the UK, the US and Australia and was also a best seller in German, Swedish and many other languages. Douglas was a founding director of h2g2, formerly The Digital Village, a digital media and Internet company with which he created the 1998 CD-ROM Starship Titanic, a Codie Award-winning (1999) and BAFTA-nominated (1998) adventure game.

Douglas died unexpectedly in May 2001 of a sudden heart attack. He was 49. He had been living in Santa Barbara, California with his wife and daughter, and at the time of his death he was working on the screenplay for a feature film version of Hitchhiker.

***** ***** ***** ***** *****
In 1978 the majority of the ten million listeners to the UK's BBC Radio 4 listen on long wave for a blend of news, entertainment and comedy, without adverts on the licence fee funded BBC radio station Peter Jones is a familiar comedy voice on the national station known as the BBC Home Service until a decade ago. Margaret Thatcher was not yet in power and industrial action was common, and Punk subculture had had its summer.

The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy starts therefore from a familiar everyday scene (as War of the Worlds had on American radio) before knocking reality for six as the listener was drawn into comedy inspired from the author's extensive education, travels and 'semi-depth knowledge of history'.Within moments the Earth is destroyed, the President of the Galaxy is a "dude", the end of the universe a classy diner, the Earth is giant computer, fjords are designed, or philosophers strike.

Lets's not get ahead of things here, some have bouts mr Adams had fits, writing fits that is, therefore there's no chapters in THHGTTG but fits, in the end he had released 26 of them, in five phases. BBC radio produced 30 min radioshows from these, starting today i will post one every week .

Bola - Soup ( 98 ^ 411mb)

Darrell Fitton is an electronic musician from Manchester, England. Most of his work is recorded under recording monikers Bola and Jello, released primarily on Skam Records. In 1995 he returned, but with the now more familiar Bola moniker releasing the Bola 1 12" on Skam Records.
Fitton displayed the same style of chrome-dipped melodic techno adhered to by many Warp artists, his subsequent Bola material focused in on a heartier, less accessible aesthetic. His self-titled Skam EP combined vaguely funk-fueled rhythms with harsh, austere synth textures and almost industrial-grade distortion. "Aguilla" was an extremely limited-run three-track seven-inch released by Skam in 1998. Two months following appeared Soup, Fitton's long-awaited LP debut. An impressive synthesis of the machine-beat ambiance of post-techno with warm, wistful analog soul, Soup sounded familiar more than dated, and served as an impressive summing up of the formal qualities of dance music utterly uninterested in the dance floor. In addition to his Bola releases, Fitton loaned his production chops to the first 12-inch by Warp artists Autechre under their Gescom guise, and is rumored to serve as Skam's in-house engineer.
A rare set of 3 EPs called Shapes was released in 2000, pressed at only 300 copies; in September 2006, it was remastered and reissued in greater numbers by Skam, adding three bonus tracks. In 2001 he released "Fyuti" , 3 years later "Gnayse" and again 3 years on his latest album Kroungrine (originally thought to be named Waknut) was released last June . Steady as he goes every 3 years a Bola..

Rhotation One

Hello, a stressful week lies behind me, my links decapped, i really didnt want to waste the effort and have been busy re uploding, i found a handful of useful providers and you will notice i use them all. Let me know where there are problems, previously i used US based ones this time the focus lies on Germany, they get me 50 % faster uploads, considering the amount to do, very significant to me. I noticed another thing IE sucks a lot of bandwidth for itself (25-30%), Opera takes much less. So i re-upped the Sunshine and Inside Out series and have started on the Wavetrain series...going backwards towards nov 06, still in July mind you...

Rho Xs' new season, after a year doing Rho Xs, i thought it was time to change the format, it ain't easy to come up with what to post, i've used some themes now but filling out 5 till 8 albums twice a week maybe a bit much in one go, it certainly worked out that way for me. So i thought about a new format, a weekly programming with 1-2 posts per day. A format which could open to others contributing or even editing here it is..

Into the BPM 1

As it happens both bands have a new album coming out soon. So why these albums to start RhoTation off with? Well i already had seen perform and bought MBM's earlier work, but then Satyricon literally brought it home to me (less intense) a great rollercoaster of an album. Underworld, well i can say i was one of the first buying this album (feb 93) it blew me away, trippy and driving, and when they came to town one month later to do a show, it really made it the musical high point for me that year, in fact MBM and Underworld set a musical trend i very much enjoyed following the rest of the ninenties.

Meat Beat Manifesto - Satyricon ( 92 ^ 365mb)

After working together in Perennial Divide, Stephens and Jack Dangers (John Stephen Corrigan) left to form Meat Beat Manifesto (MBM), their first album got destroyed in a studiofire. They then recorded the LP Storm The Studio, which got them labeled as an industrial act. Not satisfied with that , in response, they released "99%", which was more techno-influenced, in May 1990, later that year in August, they released "Armed Audio Warfare", an effort to re-create the lost tracks of the would-be debut album.
MBM build a reputation with a live show that was conceived as an intense audio-visual experience, with dancers, led by choreographer Marcus Adams, in costumes designed by artist Craig Morrison and video clips accompanying live instruments, sequenced electronic instruments, and live DJing. (dazzling stuff)

On 1992's Satyricon Meat Beat adopted a more mainstream electronic sound, influenced by such newly popular dance bands as Orbital, The Shamen, and The Orb, all of whom had either remixed or been remixed by MBM. The album produced the hits "Mindstream" and "Circles". However, "Original Control (Version 2)", renamed "I Am Electro" in later compilations, remains the best-known track from the album, featuring samples of recordings from the 1939 World's Fair exhibit Elektro The Robot.

In 1994 Dangers relocated from England to San Francisco, resulting in Stephens' departure from the band. Dangers continued MBM from his new home, releasing the double album Subliminal Sandwich in 1996. While this album represented MBM's major-label debut on Trent Reznor's Nothing Records, it failed to achieve the critical and commercial successes of previous releases. In 1997 Dangers released Actual Sounds + Voices in 1998, on which flirtations with jazz fusion featured prominently. The album yielded the single "Prime Audio Soup" which was featured in the film The Matrix. In 2002 Meat Beat released RUOK?, another big step in the evolution of their sound and prominently featuring Dangers' newly acquired toy, the EMS Synthi 100, as well as guest contributions from turntablist Z-Trip and The Orb's Alex Paterson. Underworld - Dubnobasswithmyheadman ( 93 ^ 585mb)

When at first you don't succeed...Hyde and Smith began their musical partnership with the Kraftwerk and reggae-inspired sounds of while studying together at Cardiff Art College. In 1983 they recorded two albums for CBS Records with a proto-electroclash new romantic band whose name was a graphic squiggle, which (this being a relatively unknown band and many years before Prince became "Love Symbol") was soon given a pronunciation, Freur...doot doot .Freur disbanded in 1986. In 1987 members of Freur created the band Underworld and tried a more guitar-orientated funky electropop sound "Underneath the Radar"and Change the Weather. After a break (to concentrate on, among other things, art/design project Tomato), Hyde and Smith recruited Essex DJ Darren Emerson, and after several minor releases and remixes as Lemon Interupt and Steppin' Razor readopted the Underworld moniker.

The trio's first full-length, Dubnobasswithmyheadman, was released in 1993 to rave reviews and is still considered a landmark piece of work today. It spawned several hit singles ("Dark & Long", "Cowgirl", "Dirty Epic") and was followed a couple years later by the "Born Slippy" single and their second album, Second Toughest In The Infants (1996). Underworld's well-praised remixography also continued to grow, including artists such as Björk, Saint Etienne, Simply Red, Massive Attack and Leftfield. After licensing a remix of "Born Slippy" for the 1996 cult classic film Trainspotting, Underworld gained instant worldwide fame and found themselves touring furiously, presenting their renowned, high-energy live act worldwide. Their fame continued to run high through the release of Beaucoup Fish (1999) and Everything, Everything (2000), after which time Emerson left the group to concentrate on his DJ career.

The duo continued on, releasing the album A Hundred Days Off in 2002 and an anthology release, 1992–2002 in 2003. From 2004–2006, they took a break from the traditional album/tour cycle, and focused on soundtrack work and online digital EP releases as part of The RiverRun Project. They added DJ Darren Price to their live lineup during this period. Underworld have completed their fifth studio album, Oblivion with Bells, which will be released on October 16th, 2007.The first single from the new album, "Crocodile", was released on September 5, 2007. A full world tour has been announced to support the new studio album. Currently, tour dates in the United States, Europe, and Japan are scheduled for this fall

In addition to their music, Hyde and Smith are also founding members of a graphic design company, Tomato, which has done high-profile work for clients around the world as well as providing art for all of Underworld's releases. Hyde, along with John Warwicker of Tomato, has published two typographic journals as Underworld Print: Mmm... Skyscraper, I Love You (1994) and In The Belly Of Saint Paul (2003). Underworld Print began publishing the monthly Book of Jam in October 2007, which focuses on a different theme in each issue.
