Hello,

Today The Anti-Group Communications, or T.A.G.C. are a side project of Clock DVA. Formed in the early 1980s by Adi Newton (although the idea existed as early as 1978), T.A.G.C. (originally The Anti-Group) was conceived as an open-membership experimental multimedia collective, focused on audio, visual, and textual research and production, as well as performance art and installations. ... Clock DVA are an industrial, post-punk and EBM group from Sheffield, England. The group was formed in 1978 by Adolphus "Adi" Newton and Steven "Judd" Turner. Along with contemporaries Heaven 17, Clock DVA's name was inspired by the Russian-influenced Nadsat of Anthony Burgess' A Clockwork Orange; Dva is the Russian word for "two".

Newton had previously worked with members of Cabaret Voltaire in a collective called The Studs and with Ian Craig Marsh and Martyn Ware in a band called The Future. He formed the first lineup of Clock DVA in 1978 with Judd Turner (bass), David J. Hammond (guitar), Roger Quail (drums) and Charlie Collins (saxophone, clarinet) (born 26 September 1952, Sheffield). Clock DVA was originally known for making a form of experimental electronic music involving treated tape loops and synthesizers such as the EMS Synthi E. Clock DVA became associated with industrial music with the 1980 release of their cassette album White Souls in Black Suits on Throbbing Gristle's Industrial Records.

Paul Widger joined on guitar. The LP Thirst, released on Fetish Records, followed in 1981 to a favourable critical reaction, knocking Adam and the Ants' Dirk Wears White Sox from the top of the NME Indie Charts, by which time the band had combined musique concrète techniques with standard rock instrumentation. "4 Hours", the single from Thirst, was later covered by former Bauhaus bassist David J on his 1985 solo EP Blue Moods Turning Tail.

The band split up in 1981, with the non-original members of the band going on to form The Box. Turner died in September 1981 due to an accidental drug overdose. In 1982, Newton formed a new version of the band. First releasing the single "High Holy Disco Mass" on the major label Polydor Records under the name DVA, the band then released the album Advantage (with singles "Resistance" and "Breakdown") under the name Clock DVA. After a European tour in 1983, however, the band split acrimoniously. Adi Newton went on to form The Anti-Group or T.A.G.C. They released several albums continuing in a similar vein to the early Clock DVA, yet more experimental.

In 1987, Newton reactivated DVA and invited Dean Dennis and Paul Browse back into the fold to aid Newton's use of computer aided sampling techniques which he had been developing in The Anti Group. They released Buried Dreams (1989), an electronic album which (along with its single "The Hacker") received critical acclaim as a pioneering work in the cyberpunk genre. It is also rumored to have been the CD found in Jeffrey Dahmer's stereo at the time of his arrest, according to a 1990s piece published by Alternative Press. Browse left the group in 1989 and was replaced by Robert E. Baker. The album Man-Amplified (1992), an exploration of cybernetics, was the next release. Digital Soundtracks (1992), an instrumental album, followed.

Following Dennis's departure from the group, Newton and Baker produced the album Sign (1993). After the release of Sign and related singles, Clock DVA toured Europe (line-up: Newton & Baker with Andrew McKenzie and Ari Newton) and Newton relocated to Italy. However, their Italian record label at the time, Contempo, folded which caused a number of problems. Collective, an anthology album and a box set was released in 1994. Newton began working on new material with Brian Williams, Graeme Revell (from SPK) and Paul Haslinger but continued problems with record labels eventually caused Newton and Clock DVA take a long break from the music scene.

In 1998, Czech record label Nextera released a reissue of Buried Dreams, sanctioned by Dean Dennis and Paul Browse but not by Newton. Adi Newton reactivated Clock DVA along with his creative partner Jane Radion Newton in 2008. Since 2011 Clock DVA has performed at several electronic music festivals and venues throughout Europe [6][7][8] with a new line-up consisting of Newton, Maurizio "TeZ" Martinucci and Shara Vasilenko. In November 2011, a new Clock DVA track "Phase IV" was featured on Wroclaw Industrial Festival compilation album. In January 2012, German record label Vinyl on Demand announced Horology, a vinyl box set compilation of early (1978–1980) Clock DVA material.

A historical overview exhibition of Clock DVA (photographs, video and audio) took place at the Melkweg cultural centre, Amsterdam, Netherlands in February/March 2012. In July 2013, a new Clock DVA album called Post-Sign was released on Anterior Research. It was produced and composed by Adi Newton in 1994–95 as an instrumental companion album to Sign, though it remained unreleased at that time due to problems with record labels. According to Adi Newton, Mute Records were set to re-release the eight Clock DVA albums remastered in a box set in 2012.

In 2014, Clock DVA released the album Clock 2 on a USB drive through their label Anterior Research. This limited edition release consists of 3 new studio tracks and various remixes of them, in addition to 4 video files. A 12" called Re-Konstructor / Re-Kabaret 13 was released shortly after. Another EP, Neo Post Sign, containing tracks recorded 1995-96 but omitted from the Post-Sign album, was released early 2015.

Initially conceived by Adi Newton of Clock DVA in the late '70s as a multimedia performance project, the Anti Group, later known by the initials T.A.G.C. (the C stands for "Conspiracy," "Collective," or "Communications") showcased Newton's more experimental side. the Anti Group didn't become more than theoretical mumbo-jumbo until after Newton departed Clock DVA in the mid-'80s. The loosely defined group, consisting of Newton with D.A. Heppenstall, D.F. D'Silva, B.R.D.L. Harden, Mark Holmes, Robert Baker, and Oskar M, debuted at the Atonal Festival in Berlin in February 1985, with a multimedia show called The Delivery that was later that year released as an LP. Also that year saw the release of the 12" single "Ha/Zulu" with help from members of Cabaret Voltaire.

T.A.G.C. audio recordings are released on Newton's Anterior Research Recordings label. The theoretical underpinnings of these recordings, which are often primarily psychoacoustic experiments or carefully constructed aural rituals, are made explicit in the lengthy liner notes which accompany most releases. Whereas early records cross-pollinated improvised jazz with industrial, each subsequent release, now under the T.A.G.C. banner, experimented in some new direction. The music on Digiteria, with many of the same crew as The Delivery, is based around ancient magic cults and tribal rhythms, whereas Teste Tones offered minimalist electronic experiments. The sound-and-visual project Burning Water, also from this time and released on CD several years later, offers a far more ambient sound.

Throughout the late '80s T.A.G.C. released a number of 12" singles that were eventually compiled on the CD Audiophile, along with an EP. These slabs of experimental electronic rhythms, slightly more accessible than the full-lengths, eventually pointed to the direction Newton would go once Clock DVA was re-formed in 1988. Since 1990, with the prolific DVA consuming more of Newton's time, only one further T.A.G.C. album has seen light, the CD Iso-Erotic Calibrations, recorded over three years and released in 1994.

In 2005, a maxi CD 'Psychoegoautocratical Auditory Physiogomy Delineated' was released as T.A.G.C. without Adi Newton's involvement or approval. After years of silence, Adi Newton with his creative partner Jane Radion Newton re-activated T.A.G.C. for a live multimedia performance at Equinox Festival, London in June 2009.[3] In 2013 T.A.G.C. performs at the Incubate festival in Tilburg, The Netherlands.

The acronym T.A.G.C. is also intended to represent the four nucleotides that make up DNA (thymine, adenine, guanine and cytosine).

The Anti Group Conspiracy (or Collective or Communications), an offshoot of Clock DVA, was started by Adi Newton of that band to delve into much more experimental territory. This first studio full-length, originally released on the Sweatbox label in 1986, offers a more fully realized concept than the earlier live effort, The Delivery, as the influences of ancient cults and secret societies are added to the industrial jazz sound. The avant-jazz funk is still evident on tracks like "Balag Anti," but much of the album offers eerie, cavernous soundscapes in the Lustmord vein, with dripping and creaking noises or sinister distant voices, though ritualistic rhythms add a new dimension to this blend. Even more sinister, the piece "Pre-Eval" starts off with an ominous voice speaking about man and death. The narration becomes more distorted and chaotic with effects as the speaker draws deeper into Bataille-esque misanthropy until the track erupts into a dark funk groove, and than this eventually breaks down into a more savage tribal sound, to further emphasize the dark nature of man in the spoken words. Though not nearly as visceral, the rest of the album, from the spazzed-out jazz of "Chozzar Over Abyss" to the more ambient sections, is imbued with an incredibly sinister atmosphere for a cohesive work that is oddly beautiful.

Side A recorded December 13, 1986 in Tu Mensa, Atonal, Berlin. This work was further manipulated and later entitled Teste Tones on the Meontological Research Recording Record 2 Teste Tones LP.Side B is an abridged live version of the soundtrack for a film called Burning Water, recorded February 14, 1987 in SO 36, Berlin. An awesome mindbending soundscape with disjointed speeded up vocal preamble. A later version of this track was issued on the Burning Water CD.

Much more industrial than its predecessor 'Meontological Research I' and far more affecting. The start of the album, a couple seconds of a 40 hz hum, a voice intoning, "This is only a test" and then another high-pitched tone, certainly wouldn't dispel that idea. The tone drones endlessly, is joined by a few others without compromising the extreme minimalist aesthetic, while the voice, which is also used on the more dance-oriented 12" single "Broadcast Test," repeats. On this record, Adi Newton seems to have ditched most of the group from earlier efforts, as well as the jazz elements, for a work of pure electronics. The third track, "E.P.M.D.," cuts loose from the mode, as a clanking, bare-bones electro beat becomes the backdrop for sirens, panicking voices, and other suspense sound bites. An even more fascinating track, "A.A.A.," starts off with very simple repeating elements, and slowly layers more on top until the piece achieves a strange tension of changing sounds similar to some of Steve Reich's early tape experiments. The pair of longer tracks at the end are more in the minimal ambient sonicscape that T.A.G.C. has done elsewhere just as well, but on the whole, this is a strange disc, psychedelic music for the 21st century. Still sounds as up-to-date as it did over 20 years ago.

The original idea for The Anti Group was devised by A. Newton and S. J. Turner as early as 1978, with the intention of the formation of a multi-dimensional research & development project active in many relatedareas. Research and development of sound, film, video and performance and the documentation of each project was the fundamental "modus operandi". Underlying this basic idea is the deeper philosophical and theoretical conceptuality; The Anti Group could be any given number of collaborators or participants. In this respect The Anti Group are free from the formats that have built in limitations, operating within this context The Anti Group are also free from the erroneous problems of Ego. Audiophile contains eleven tracks from three singles and an EP, all previously released on 12" (1985-1990), all long deleted. With the exception of "Broadcast Test" this is the first time these tracks have been issued on CD. All tracks have been remastered for this compilation.

RhoDeo 1545 Re-Ups 38

Hello, with 33 re-ups today a substantial part of the requests have been fullfilled, alas ther's a back log of at least one week ! Meanwhile there's still thousands of postings that could be re-upped, all it takes is a simple civilized request at the page where its originally posted. That said ive seen a number of requests for musik i posted earlier this year 2015, these are on the long list simply because most visitors here have already had these choices recently, my priority lies with older posts (i've been posting for 9 years now)

Storage maybe dirt cheap these days -compared to 5 years ago, but the hosts are much more money orientated and look at turnover and notice that keeping data longer than 1 month isn't making them money. Thus the coming months i'm making an effort to re-up, it will satisfy a small number of people which means its likely the update will  expire relativly quickly again as its interest that keeps it live. Nevertheless here's your chance ... asks for re-up in the comments section prefarbly at the page where the expired link resides....requests are satisfied on a first come first go basis. As my back up ogg hard disk is nonresponsive currently, i most likely will post a flac instead~for the the pre medio 2011 posts~ but i would think that is not really a problem...updates will be posted here and yes sign a name to your request and please do it from the page where the link died!

Looka here another batch of 33 re-ups, next week no re-ups too busy elsewhere .. ...N' Joy

RhoDeo 1545 Quest 15

Hello, no F1 today but whilst cooking and setting the time to 29min it got me thinking about prime numbers our society is build upon prime numbers as math is build upon these numbers, there's something divine about it all, and then there's pi and the golden mean 'numbers' of sorts without the use of these this world would like very different. Marvelous universe isn't it....

... A series that will be running into the new year, 24 episodes of Elvenquest. It's is a sitcom about a misanthropic writer of fantasy novels who finds himself whisked away into a parallel universe by an elf, a dwarf and a warrior princess, where he must undertake to find the Sword of Asnagar in order to save Lower Earth from the evil Lord Darkness before he can get home. Today the start of season 3 .. N'Joy

xxxxx xxxxx xxxxx xxxxx xxxxx

Plot

During the Third Age of Elven Princes of Lower Earth, a band of noble warriors – Vidar the Elf Lord (Boyd), Penthiselea the Warrior Princess (Winkleman) and Dean the Dwarf (Eldon) – plan to save Lower Earth from the evil rule of Lord Darkness by searching for the Sword of Asnagar, "for whoso'er wields the sword shall rule all of Lower Earth."[2] However, they first have to discover "The Chosen One" who will lead them to the Sword, whose name is "Amis". Amis is a dog belonging to Sam Porter, a misanthropic fantasy novelist in the real world.

Vidar, Penthiselea and Dean travel via a portal to take Amis, who is with Sam at a book signing in Totnes High Street, to Lower Earth. When they take Amis, Sam follows them and both Sam and Amis arrive in Lower Earth. When they arrive in Lower Earth, Amis is transformed into a human (played by Lamb), retaining many of his canine traits, such as becoming excited when there is a knock at the door, and being totally devoted to Sam. Sam believes he has been kidnapped by deranged fans until he sees the world outside the room in which he awakes. He asks to be sent back home, but is told that the portal is closed and can only be opened by the same Sword of Asnagar that Amis must seek.

Sam decides to travel with Amis, Vidar, Penthiselea and Dean to find the Sword. Meanwhile, Lord Darkness (Alistair McGowan) is planning to stop them from finding the Sword, helped by his evil but dimwitted assistant Kreech (also played by Eldon). Sam proves invaluable in using his modern instincts to trick his way past various creatures barring their way. For instance, he bluffs a three-headed troll guardian of Darkness' fortress in the same way as he would a security guard at a nightclub, distracting it long enough for Dean the dwarf to attack. He also tends to expect secret tunnels and concealed doors because that's the sort of thing he would have written into one of his plots. He is often right.

Characters

Sam Porter (Stephen Mangan). An author of fantasy novels with a jaded attitude, especially towards his more fanatical fans. As the series opens his career and personal life are not going well.

Amis, the Chosen One (Dave Lamb). Originally Sam's pet dog and best friend in the world, he transforms into a human in Lower Earth but retains canine traits and behaviours.

Vidar the Elf Lord, (Darren Boyd), last of a mighty family of Elf Lords, and the leader of the Questers, despite being somewhat dim. His name may be inspired by Víðarr, a god in Norse mythology associated with vengeance.

Penthiselea the Warrior Princess (Sophie Winkleman Series 1-3) (Ingrid Oliver Series 4) in silver breastplate armour and thigh-high boots, who has been promised to Vidar since childhood. Sam is very interested in her, but having been raised as a Warrior Princess she has no concept of relationships with men. Her name may be inspired by Penthesilea, a legendary Amazon warrior-queen.

Dean the Dwarf (Kevin Eldon), a mighty if diminutive warrior with unsavoury personal habits.

Lord Darkness (Alistair McGowan), Lord of Evil, whose efforts to dominate Lower Earth are frustrated by the Questers and his own staff of extremely dimwitted minions.

Kreech (Kevin Eldon), the Right Hand of Darkness, and only slightly less dimwitted than the other minions.

Other characters played by Chris Pavlo.

Sundaze 1545

Hello, by far the biggest post sizewise this year, almost 6 hours of Sundaze.

Seasoned DJ and producer Nick Brennan aka Tripswitch aka Codemonkey is a man with many hats, having honed his studio craft over an auspicious 12 year career of releases and touring, establishing a reputation as one of the UK's foremost downtempo electronica artists under his Tripswitch moniker. His productions are renowned for their intricate attention to detail and luxurious sense of space, attracting top reviews in the music press and national dailies  .  .... N'joy

xxxxx xxxxx xxxxx xxxxx xxxxx

Nick Brennan’s musical history is long and varied - he studied piano from the age of 5, dabbled briefly with the trumpet for a year, and moved onto the guitar at the age of 12 which he studied profusely throughout his teens in both classical discipline and rock, blues and jazz improvisation. Having spent the latter half of the eighties playing in everything from punk, rock and even blues and jazz bands, Nick discovered acid house music in 1989 when he started going to the now legendary DiY raves around Nottingham. Seduced by the hazy hedonism and good vibes of those early raves, he moved more and more away from his rock roots, abandoning his guitar for a pair of decks in 1992.

His interest in acid house and hardcore was counterbalanced with a new-found love for dub reggae and the psychedelic sound of the Ozric Tentacles, which became his everyday soundtrack for life in 1991-92. Moreover the early days of progressive house and the emerging Frankfurt trance scene had a profound effect on him and he became increasingly interested in production. Artists like Jam & Spoon, Sven Vath and particularly A.C. Boutsen (who released under a wide range of names including CygnusX and Brainchild for Eye Q and Harthouse), helped to cement his interest in trance music. As the scene and the music evolved and diversified Nick aligned himself firmly at the progressive end of the spectrum, where the sounds were deeper, more expansive and melodic and the production values were that bit more important.

He bought his first Juno 106 synth for £100 in 1996, and over the next few years he partied hard while developing his production skills and expanding his studio. In 1998 he went into business with close friend Dave Eserin, setting up Vivid Audio, a recording studio and rehearsal rooms in Kennington, South London. Here they taught themselves recording and production techniques recording demos for live bands, and Nick spent his spare time writing trance with a number of collaborators. He also put on a series of legendary ‘Club Tiny’ parties at the studio, which were host to an auspicious cross section of DJ’s from the London scene.
In 2000 NZ DJ Pied Piper Paul , whom Nick was living with at the time, passed a CD of his early chillout experiments to Humphrey Bacchus , A&R for Liquid Sound Design, who immediately snapped up one of the tracks for his next LSD compilation, Mana Medicine. The compilation received rave reviews, and interest in Nick’s music started to build. The next LSD compilation, ‘Butterfly Dawn’, included 2 Tripswitch tracks and was hailed as a downtempo classic. The track ‘Silver’ in particular received a great deal of positive press and the 2004 remix by dub maestro Ott went into the Top 30 reader’s list of Russian music magazine PLAY. Recent releases have included a remix of Ott’s ‘Escape from Tulse Hell’ on LSD’s ‘Wider Horizons’ and an inclusion on the debut compilation of Italian label Neurobiotic ‘s new chill-out sister, Indica.

Nick’s debut full length album, ‘Circuit Breaker’, was released in April 2005 and received widespread critical acclaim, with tracks being picked up by the likes of José Padilla and DJ Ravin (Buddha Bar) for forthcoming compilations. Since it’s release Nick has been inundated with requests for new material, remix work and club and festival appearances. After in a busy summer in Europe, Nick has a tour of North America planned for October/November 05 with Bluetech. In addition to his established chill-out activity, Nick is currently working on some progressive breaks which will see him tap into his darker side. He is also throwing around some breaks ideas via DSL with Seb Taylor (of Shakta/Digitalis/Angel Tears/Kaya Project fame), and will shortly be expanding his collaborations with Gaudi to produce a full length album.

Nick launched Section Records in 2010 with the release of the long-awaited Tripswitch follow-up album 'Geometry'. evolving his sound beyond the understated psychedelia of 'Circuit Breaker', Geometry presented a lush and rich journey through new territories, accessible and balanced with a healthy dose of Nick's trademark blend of live guitars and electronica. A series of remix eps and singles with contributions from the likes of Luke Chable, Shiloh, Nick Warren, Fiord, Solar Fields and Soundprank through 2011 established Section Records as a potential force to be reckoned with in the dance, bass and downtempo markets. Regular radio play on stations worldwide including RTE, Music Choice, Ninja Tunes Solid Steel and the Kiss FM breakfast show, and extensive coverage in the press including great reviews in Mixmag, iDJ and DJ mag, features in Tillate and Freeze magazines and recently a contribution to Computer Music's 101 studio tips from the pros are ensuring that word of Section Records and Nick's alter egos is currently spreading like wildfire. His reputation for intricate attention to detail and luxurious sense of space has also made him him a remixer of choice when a release needs that elegant downtempo angle. He has released on a wide range of labels including Renaissance, Global Underground, Cocoon, Resist, System Recordings, Malicious Damage, Iboga, Dragonfly, Interchill, Ultimae, Plusquam and of course his own label Section Records.

Nick has been touring the Tripswitch live act for the past 12 years on the European festival circuit and is a firm favourite with the punters. recognised as a must-have fixture for the sunset slot, the Tripswitch sound is perfectly suited to those balmy summer evenings where the crowds are building themselves up to a night of dancing on the main floor. 2012/13 has been Nick’s busiest year yet on the road, taking him to North, Central and South America, Asia and Australasia in addition to blistering sets at the largest European festivals. Those who’ve witnessed one of these sets have been among the first to dance to the new, mid-tempo progressive sound which Nick has been quietly developing over the past year.

Nick's Codemonkey project fuses the heavy bottom end of dubstep with the delicate production he's known for to produce something truly unique in the bass music market. His first few releases on Section under this name have been well received with name djs and radio stations alike, and nick is working solidly over the coming months preparing a Codemonkey album & live set for late 2013 / early 2014.

Nick's varied dj sets are noted for his skill in creating a journey for the audience, seamlessly beat-mixed with a melodic flair that moves the crowd from start to finish. He regularly guests on Alex Paterson (The Orb)'s Chilled Chewy Choosedays show on Fnoob and has performed mixes for Ninja Tunes Solid Steel, RTE Pulse and Camden Roundhouse Radio, is a key contributor to Nick Warren's sync music library Coachhouse, and also works closely with pioneer as a tester for their pro dj line of equipment.

Tripswitch is Nick Brennan from the UK. He has previously released several great tracks on various compilations, mostly on Liquid Sound Design, the chilled side of Dragonfly Records. Now he is finally out with his debut album called Circuit Breaker on Liquid Sound Design. As usual, we get another masterpiece from this label, perfect timing before the summer.

First out is the Exiled track originally released on the Butterfly Dawn compilation. Here we get a remix of it. This one has very mystic, almost dramatic vibes, with chilled Indian vocals and slow drums. Deep and beautiful. Track 2 called Shamanic Tea was is also released on the Mana Medicine compilation on LSD in 2001. This is another classic masterpiece, which has been played a lot by chill out dj’s around the world. It continues the mystic soundscapes, here with more dubby sounds and beats. The melody in this one is just incredible, almost trippy. The female Indian vocals we get here are also beautiful! Then we get a new previously unreleased track. This is among my many favourites on this album. Trippy vibes, relaxed down tempo rhythms, deep bass, great melodies and beautiful vocals. A track we will for sure hear a lot this summer. Roll Your Own goes another direction. Totally relaxing, with some spacey acoustic guitar. Very dreamy track, with some loungy vibes. Quite light and happy chill out. Nice one. Tachyon has some echoing voice samples.

Cartwheel goes back to mystic, floating soundscapes. This track is very melanocholic, with some really beautiful melodies. It builds up a little, and after a while we get some relaxing beats too. Summer chill for sure. Track 7 is a great track called Silver, which was released as an Ott version on the Wider Horizons compilation on LSD last year. Here we get another version called Robot Baby version. We actually get a voice in there that sounds like a baby... This version is very slow and relaxing, with a chilled down tempo beat in parts of the track. Sounds pretty nice and organic. On Tomahna we get dubby vibes again, mixed with some relaxing guitar sounds. This reminds me of some music from Hawai or something, but in an electronic version. Perfect for chilling out on the beach. Track 9 is previously released on the Namaskar compilation on Indica Music. This is almost a progressive trance track, still very relaxing, deep and quite trippy. An atmospheric, drifting track. The last track on this album, Deer Park, takes us further into a chilled mood. This one is floating all the way through. This is for sure one of the best chill out albums of 2005. An album that will fit perfect for your chilled moments this summer. Pure quality all the way through. The only down side I can point out, is that some of these tracks are released before.

Geometry is the long-awaited second full length album from Nick Brennan. A natural evolution from the ultra-melodic, psychedelic masterpiece that was 'Circuit Breaker', an album widely considered to be one of the landmark productions in the psy-chill scene, Geometry turns the page and presents a fresh view of Nick's trademark sound, a combination of intricate electronic composition and live instrumentation. Still with the same lush production values as it's older brother, Geometry strips back the sound and rebuilds it with elements of breakbeat, shoegaze, dub and downtempo synth-pop to create a heady flow between downtempo genres with a precision that's faithful to it's title. With a number of single remixes on the way from some killer artists, Geometry is the perfect introduction to the world for Section Records and a welcome return to the scene for one of it's early leading lights.
Review

Downtempo dance, glossy chilled electronica. Geometry is a smooth, unwinding album of classy chillout that meanders up and down in intensity around a tight flowing core. Establishing a tasteful balance between melodic warmth and psychedelic minimalism, Geometry charges the air with electrical intricacies and bathes the listener in lush layers of consonant pattern. Hi-tech touches and ethnic hints embellish the inviting beats that tend to inhabit the danceable end of the downtempo spectrum; although the pace drops from the euphoric heights of heaving downbeat psychedelia right down to near ambient tranquility in places. There are plenty of deeply effected guitar forms among the synths and some graceful piano lines, plenty of variety in palette, pace and power. Geometry sees Tripswitch refining his sound in all the right directions: very rich and deeply saturated, catchy yet restrained; very relaxing without ever becoming sugary.

Section Records slams into 2011 with it's first single release, an EP of stunning remixes of "Strange Parallels", one of Tripswitch aka Nick Brennan's most iconic productions to date. The track gets a much-anticipated airing of its own with a selection of killer remixes spanning several genres. The mixes Remix 1 is from Prog-meister Purple and godfather of electro-house Tim Healey, whose slamming mix gives Dadalife and Dirtyloud a good run for their money. Canadian legends Shiloh give the track the progressive house treatment on Remix 2, creating a melodic journey pulled along by pristine beats and pulsating sub-bass with a breakdown of epic proportions. Remix 3 showcases upcoming Japanese producer Aurtas, Section Records's first signing, who shows his skill with this progressive floor-filler combining a hi-def bassline with classic Way Out West-style progressions which keep surprising you right to the end. Nick Tripswitch's alter-ego Codemonkey brings the track into atmospheric dubstep territory for Remix 4, where a rumbling bassline combines with intricate beats and spacious atmospherics to create a powerful and evocative journey to the dark side. For Remix 5, Russian producers Koan produce a euphoric mid-tempo trance mix powered by driving beats and soaring synth leads which gives a firm nod back to the glory days of trance music while keeping the sound current. Cape Town-based Indidginus takes us in an old-school psy-trance direction for Remix 6, southern hemisphere-style, and on Remix 7 Scorb collaborators ODT give us a cheeky, full-powered psytrance mix with driving 303 lines and a dark, brooding ending. The package is rounded off by the original Tripswitch mix, combining intricate, multi-layered beats, ethereal pads, smooth sub bass, shoegaze guitar washes and a truly epic and memorable guitar melody.

Following on from the success of January's "Strange Parallels" single, which bagged support from Orbital, Groove Armada, Matt Darey, Mumdance and Kiss FM, and a 9/10 recommendation in iDJ mag, Section Records brings you two fresh packages of remixes of Tripswitch's euphoric track 'Stereogram'. Another piece of cinematic beauty picked from the 2010 album 'Geometry', the original edit is driven along by a hypnotic guitar strum and a catchy bassline, building with layer upon layer of pads and synths, until warped guitar washes and a Schnauss-esque lead at the breakdown blast you into a maelstrom of lushness and reggae chops. Another timeless Tripswitch melody which will keep this track in people's ears and minds long after release. Keeping the 'stereo' theme, Section is releasing 2 Stereogram packages this March. The first, nicknamed 'left hemisphere' (supposedly the practical side of the brain), is a collection of dance remixes headed up by the mighty Luke Chable, while the 'right hemisphere' (the creative side) is packed with downtempo interpretations from some of the leading lights in contemporary chillout. The original mix will be included as a free track in both releases. We're proud to have Luke Chable on board for the first mix of the "left hemisphere" package. A slab of classic Chable progressive, this melodic house monster is a guaranteed floor-filler with a rumbling but funky bass and intricate synth lines. The melody's turned on its head at the breakdown and we're treated to an explosion of old-school progressive house at its best. The producer behind Tripswitch, Nick Brennan gives a deeper progressive take for mix 2, layering the vocals of Natasha Chamberlain over a groovy bed of tranced-out house before a rude bassline kicks in at the drop and carries us through a nebula of ethereal analogue sounds. Section artist Aurtas follows up on his well-received remix for "Strange Parallels" with another rock-solid chunk of melodic house, which once again re-invents the original in unexpected and magical ways. Nick Brennan's other alter-ego Codemonkey rounds up the mixes with another super-deep, glitched-up dubsteppy re-lick for mix number 4, which with the help of a huge pillowy sub bass, fat guitar crunch, dub atmospherics and serious editing trickery, delivers a punch that's sure to take you by surprise.

Hello,

Today's artists has been cited as having enjoyed one of the "longest, most influential, and most diverse careers in the pantheon of popular music". .  ... N'joy

xxxxx xxxxx xxxxx xxxxx xxxxx

First formed in the early '50s, the Isley Brothers enjoyed one of the longest, most influential, and most diverse careers in the pantheon of popular music -- over the course of nearly a half century of performing, the group's distinguished history spanned not only two generations of Isley siblings but also massive cultural shifts which heralded their music's transformation from gritty R&B to Motown soul to blistering funk. The first generation of Isley siblings was born and raised in Cincinnati, OH, where they were encouraged to begin a singing career by their father, himself a professional vocalist, and their mother, a church pianist who provided musical accompaniment at their early performances. Initially a gospel quartet, the group was comprised of Ronald, Rudolph, O'Kelly, and Vernon Isley; after Vernon's 1955 death in a bicycling accident, tenor Ronald was tapped as the remaining trio's lead vocalist. In 1957, the brothers went to New York City to record a string of failed doo wop singles; while performing a spirited reading of the song "Lonely Teardrops" in Washington, D.C., two years later, they interjected the line "You know you make me want to shout," which inspired frenzied audience feedback. An RCA executive in the audience saw the concert, and when he signed the Isleys soon after, he instructed that their first single be constructed around their crowd-pleasing catch phrase; while the call-and-response classic "Shout" failed to reach the pop Top 40 on its initial release, it eventually became a frequently covered classic.

Still, success eluded the Isleys, and only after they left RCA in 1962 did they again have another hit, this time with their seminal cover of the Top Notes' "Twist and Shout." Like so many of the brothers' early R&B records, "Twist and Shout" earned greater commercial success when later rendered by a white group -- in this case, the Beatles; other acts who notched hits by closely following the Isleys' blueprint were the Yardbirds ("Respectable," also covered by the Outsiders), the Human Beinz ("Nobody but Me"), and Lulu ("Shout"). During a 1964 tour, they recruited a young guitarist named Jimmy James to play in their backing band; James -- who later shot to fame under his given name, Jimi Hendrix -- made his first recordings with the Isleys, including the single "Testify," issued on the brothers' own T-Neck label. They signed to the Motown subsidiary Tamla in 1965, where they joined forces with the famed Holland-Dozier-Holland writing and production team. Their first single, the shimmering "This Old Heart of Mine (Is Weak for You)," was their finest moment yet, and barely missed the pop Top Ten.

"This Old Heart of Mine" was their only hit on Motown, however, and when the song hit number three in Britain in 1967, the Isleys relocated to England in order to sustain their flagging career; after years of writing their own material, they felt straitjacketed by the Motown assembly-line production formula, and by the time they returned stateside in 1969, they had exited Tamla to resuscitate the T-Neck label. Their next release, the muscular and funky "It's Your Thing," hit number two on the U.S. charts in 1969, and became their most successful record. That year, the Isleys also welcomed a number of new members as younger brothers Ernie and Marvin, brother-in-law Chris Jasper, and family friend Everett Collins became the trio's new backing unit. Spearheaded by Ernie's hard-edged guitar leads, the group began incorporating more and more rock material into its repertoire as the 1970s dawned, and scored hits with covers of Stephen Stills' "Love the One You're With," Eric Burdon & War's "Spill the Wine," and Bob Dylan's "Lay Lady Lay."

In 1973, the Isleys scored a massive hit with their rock-funk fusion cover of their own earlier single "Who's That Lady," retitled "That Lady, Pt. 1"; the album 3 + 3 also proved highly successful, as did 1975's The Heat Is On, which spawned the smash "Fight the Power, Pt. 1." As the decade wore on, the group again altered its sound to fit into the booming disco market; while their success on pop radio ran dry, they frequently topped the R&B charts with singles like 1977's "The Pride," 1978's "Take Me to the Next Phase, Pt. 1," 1979's "I Wanna Be With You, Pt. 1," and 1980's "Don't Say Goodnight." While the Isleys' popularity continued into the 1980s, Ernie and Marvin, along with Chris Jasper, defected in 1984 to form their own group, Isley Jasper Isley; a year later, they topped the R&B charts with "Caravan of Love." On March 31, 1986, O'Kelly died of a heart attack; Rudolph soon left to join the ministry, but the group reunited in 1990.

Although the individual members continued with solo work and side projects, and also experienced misfortune along the way, the Isley Brothers forged on in one form or another throughout the '90s and into the 21st century. In 1996, now consisting of Ronald, Marvin, and Ernie, they released the album Mission to Please; however, Marvin developed diabetes and left the band the following year -- the disease later necessitated the amputation of both his legs. Ronald and Ernie hooked up for the release of 2001's Eternal, a brand-new selection of R&B cuts featuring collaborative efforts with Jill Scott, Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis, and Raphael Saadiq. On that particular release, Ronald also introduced the alter ego Mr. Biggs. Body Kiss was released in 2003, followed by Baby Makin' Music in 2006, the year after Ronald was convicted of tax evasion charges. Experiencing his own set of serious health issues, Ronald was sentenced to prison and served the latter portion of his sentence at a halfway house in St. Louis, MO before being released in April 2010. On June 6 of that year, Marvin died of complications from diabetes at the age of 56.

The Heat Is On is American soul and funk group The Isley Brothers' thirteenth studio album. The album spent 40 weeks on the US Billboard Pop Albums chart after it's release, garnering the group's first number one album in the U.S. The Heat Is On features singles "Fight the Power (Part 1 & 2)" and "For the Love of You (Part 1 & 2)".
1975's The Heat Is On was the third album that the Isley Brothers recorded with their 3 + 3 lineup, and by that time, the lineup had really perfected its attractive soul/rock sound. The Isleys were providing great R&B long before keyboardist Chris Jasper, bassist Marvin Isley, and the distinctive guitarist Ernie Isley came on board in 1973; nonetheless, the newcomers added a lot to the group and helped it provide some of its best recordings. Marvin's basslines are as funky as it gets, and the Jimi Hendrix-influenced Ernie is a killer guitarist; he would have been perfect for Deep Purple, Blue Oyster Cult, or Judas Priest if the Isley Brothers hadn't kept him busy in the 1970s. One of the 3 + 3 gems that no Isleys fans should be without is The Heat Is On, which is best known for the sweaty funk classic "Fight the Power" and the sexy quiet storm slow jam "For the Love of You." Lead vocalist Ronald Isley is as convincing on the funk scorchers as he is on caressing ballads like "Make Me Say It Again Girl" and "Sensuality." Meanwhile, "Hope You Feel Better Love" is brilliant because it contrasts those two sides of the 3 + 3 lineup -- the verses are sweetly melodic, but the chorus is forceful and explosive. Superb from start to finish, The Heat Is On is among The Isleys' most essential albums.

The Isley Brothers came with love, funk and the too seldom mentioned socially consicous songs; this album is titled after one of those social gems. However, "Who Loves You Better," with its disco flair, was the album's first release. Ronald Isley's aggressive delivery blends nicely with Ernie Isley's tantalizing guitar solos. It was a top three single on the Billboard R&B charts. The title track is a tour de force. Preceded by a mellow intro in which Ronald Isley's earnest plea rings with urgency, the timeless lyric and festive rhythm make "Harvest for the World" a welcomed anthem for all the people of the world. It cracked the Billboard R&B top ten at number nine. Ronald Isley changes his tone on some of these compositions by adding a roughness to his still smooth tenor, like on the relentless jams "People of Today" and "You Wanna Stay Down." Then there are those priceless ballads like "Let Me Know" and "Let Me Down Easy"; Ronald Isley sweetly caresses the lyric with compassion and agility. Neither of these two selections were releases but remain staples on R&B radio.

Every ten years the Isley Brothers reinvented themselves and managed to snatch as many consumer dollars and generate enough chart action to remain contemporary. Go for Your Guns was a further attempt by the Isleys to broaden their fan base; earlier in the decade they redid many rock standards to expand from the R&B base they were mired in. the Isleys shoot for the moon and never make it, but they always land among the stars. This seven-song set got played to death on urban radio. "Living in the Life" rocks so hard it makes cheap speakers pop; "Go for Your Guns" is an instrumental jam featuring the second generation Isley Brothers: Ernie, Marvin, and Chris Jasper (Rudolph Isley's brother-in-law). The lovely, mystical "Voyage to Atlantis" is a staple of their live concerts, its opening strains acknowledged by deafening, enthusiastic applause. Like many Isley tunes, the loping, mid-tempo love tale "Footsteps in the Dark" has been sampled silly; "Pride" is a steady beater with uplifting words for the downtrodden. Nothing dull, no filler.

These are the first offerings from the Isley Brothers' T-Neck record label, and many consider special because Jimi Hendrix played lead guitar on them. However, these tracks bombed as singles. "Testify" is noisy and congested, too much is going on. Hendrix's guitar is prominent, and identifies him as conclusively as a DNA sample. The Isleys imitate popular singers Stevie Wonder, Ray Charles, and James Brown on "Testify," but the imitations are weak and sound like clones of each other. "Move Over and Let Me Dance" has some of "Testify"'s problems but works a little better, it has a danceable groove and a much better hook. The only soft selection is "The Last Girl," which has an airy sound, and features a rare laid-back vocal from Ron Isley during this phase of his career. Hendrix fans will love this, but fans of the Isleys' later stuff will not be impressed.

Hello, today the 234th post of GoldyRhox, classic pop rock in the darklight an American singer (born November 23, 1954), he is an keyboardist known for the spontaneity and creativity of his live performances. He draws frequently from classical, jazz, bluegrass, folk, Motown, gospel, rock, blues, and jam band musical traditions with his songwriting and the seamless improvisations contained within.

Our man's recordings have been recognized on a number of occasions with industry awards, including the 1987 Grammy Award for Best New Artist with mystery man and the Range, the 1990 Grammy Award for Best Bluegrass Album, and the 1994 Grammy Award for Best Pop Instrumental Performance.

Today's mystery man has also achieved recognition for his solo albums and performances, his touring band the Noisemakers, his bluegrass project with Ricky Skaggs and his appearances as a session- and guest-musician. He also collaborated with Grateful Dead and was an unofficial member of the band from September 1990 to March 1992, playing at over 100 shows during that period.

***** ***** ***** ***** *****
Most of the albums i 'll post made many millions for the music industry and a lot of what i intend to post still gets repackaged and remastered decades later, squeezing the last drop of profit out of bands that for the most part have ceased to exist long ago, although sometimes they get lured out of the mothballs to do a big bucks gig or tour. Now i'm not as naive to post this kinda music for all to see and have deleted, these will be a black box posts, i'm sorry for those on limited bandwidth but for most of you a gamble will get you a quality rip don't like it, deleting is just 2 clicks...That said i will try to accommodate somewhat and produce some cryptic info on the artist and or album.

Today's mystery debut album was released April 1st 1986 Led by its hit title track, the album went on to achieve multi-platinum status and helped the group to win the Grammy Award for Best New Artist. Other hits from the album include "Mandolin Rain" and "Every Little Kiss". Fellow musician Huey Lewis is also featured on the album, lending his harmonica on "Every Little Kiss" and vocal talents to the track, "Down the Road Tonight". Lewis also helped produce the song, along with the tracks, "The Long Race" and "The River Runs Low".

The lyrics are lightly poetic and restrained, for the most part. The exception is the title song (written by today's mystery man alone), a brave if somewhat clumsily written attack on the heartless right-wing politics of the mid-'80s, as the U.S. suffered through a second Reagan administration determined to roll back civil rights gains. The original album cover featured an impressionistic photograph of today's mystery man playing an accordion, and was originally targeted at the New Age music market and featured slightly different versions of the songs "Down the Road Tonight" and "The River Runs Low." Once the album's tracks started to receive regular airplay on Pop Music stations in late 1986, the album was remixed and was re-released with a new cover featuring a segment of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel. ..Here to ...N'Joy

Hello, note i've updated this post with Cosey Fanni Tutti - Time to Tell, it got overseen by me when posting yesterday...N'Joy

After the pioneer industrial rock combo Throbbing Gristle broke up in 1981, Chris Carter and Cosey Fanni Tutti (b. Christine Newby) decided to keep working together. Working under the names Chris and Cosey and CTI (Creative Technology Institute), the duo expanded the dense rhythmic ideas of their former band, adding more accessible synthesized pop elements as their career progressed..   ... N'Joy

xxxxx xxxxx xxxxx xxxxx xxxxx

When Throbbing Gristle was terminated in 1981 Chris Carter and Cosey Fanni Tutti signed to Rough Trade Records and began recording and performing as Chris & Cosey. From the very start they indulgently utilised electronics, sampling, rhythms and Cosey’s distinctive vocals, cornet and guitar style. In 1983 they formed their own offshoot record label Conspiracy International (aka: CTI) for their more experimental recordings and collaborative projects. CTI continues to run alongside Carter and Tutti 's more accessible work.

Regularly cited as one of the original forerunners of the Techno and Electronica genres Chris & Cosey's name is often cited by bands and DJs as hugely influential. During the 1980s and 90s Chris & Cosey went on to record some of the most inventive Electronica albums, including the much sampled and remixed Trance album (1982), the Techno Pop classic October-Love Song (1983) and the West Coast and Goa dance floor hit Exotica (1987).

In 1992 after many gruelling tours and for both health and artistic reasons Carter and Tutti decided to scale down their live performances and concentrate on studio recordings. They continue to release numerous albums and solo projects through their own Conspiracy International label .In recent years Carter and Tutti have released two ongoing CD series: The Library Of Sound and Electronic Ambient Remixes. Their latest release is the critically acclaimed 'Cabal' cd album.

To greet the 21st century, Chris & Cosey became Carter Tutti, celebrating the rebirth with a series of concerts which were documented on the live album LEM Festival October 2003. The rebirth was completed by the release of the studio album Cabal later that year. Both also appeared as guests on the 2006 Current 93 album Black Ships Ate the Sky.

Carter and Tutti re-engaged with Throbbing Gristle, which reformed with all four original members for a December 2004 All Tomorrow's Parties festival appearance, and recorded several new studio albums over the following years - TG Now (2004) and Part Two (2007). They also performed a short series of concerts in Europe and the United States in 2009, with a rare tour-only release album, The Third Mind Movements. (Ostensibly, the few remaining copies were sold via mail-order through the Throbbing Gristle website upon completion of the tour).

In October 2010 Throbbing Gristle began a European tour; however, several days following the band's first tour date at the Hackney Dissenting Academy, London, Throbbing Gristle's website announced that Genesis P-Orridge was no longer willing to perform with the band, and would return to his home in New York. Chris, Cosey and Peter 'Sleazy' Christopherson finished the tour without P-Orridge, performing under the name X-TG.

Carter and Tutti performed with Nik Colk Void of Factory Floor at Mute's Short Circuit Festival in May 2011. A live album of the show, with an additional studio track, was released as Transverse in 2012, under the name Carter Tutti Void

As for Cosey Fanni Tutti (born Christine Newby, 4 November 1951..she's began her career in music and art during 1969, appearing in art performances and musical improvisations in Hull until 1972.In 1973, Cosey moved to London and continued working as a performance artist representing Britain at the 9th Paris Biennale,1975 and Arte Inglese Oggi,1976. She also performed in Belgium, Germany, Holland, France, Italy, Austria, USA and Canada until 1980.

Throughout the period 1973 - 1980 Cosey was exhibiting, contributing to mail art exhibitions and performing in other group exhibitions around the world. Often working naked in her performances, Cosey went on to investigate self-image within the context of sex magazines and sex films, glamour modelling and striptease acts. Her experiences within these industries during the period 1973 - 1984 were brought into her art work as she explored the many aspects of sex as it is perceived and transacted as commercial product. She placed conventional beauty in a situation where it was subjected to simulated mutilation before a live audience. This provided a visual contrast highlighting and questioning the notion of what is presentable as 'beauty'.

In her infamous exhibition 'Prostitution' at the Institute of Contemporary Art, London, 1976Ê Cosey Fanni Tutti occupied multiple roles; artist, model, musician, and herself. Music was used in some of Cosey's performances in preference to spoken language, which she considered an obstacle to her visual presentations. She continued to explore the use of sound, scientifically, politically, commercially and as a means of physical pleasure or pain. In 1976 she co-founded the group Throbbing Gristle with Chris Carter, Peter Christopherson and Genesis P-Orridge. They broke the rules of established music and its contextual business practice, ultimately becoming successful with their own record label, Industrial Records. In 1981 Cosey immersed herself in creating music and video with partner Chris Carter under the name Chris & Cosey most recently performing and recording as Carter Tutti. Their joint musical and video collaborations, some 32 albums, have met with continuing international success.
1994 marked Cosey's re-entry into the art world since which time she has exhibited works in the UK, U.S.A., Austria, Germany, Lisbon, Japan, Spain, Portugal, Switzerland and Sweden. She now works closely with and is represented by Cabinet, London.

Her art practice takes it place alongside her continuing music work with Chris Carter and latterly the re-grouping of Throbbing Gristle.

xxxx xxxxx xxxxx xxxxx xxxxx

Cosey Fanni Tutti's work since TG, while often stylistically very different, has nevertheless been driven by the same compulsion towards originality and adventure, and many of the same extra-musical influences and ideas. The primacy of improvisation in live performances in particular is informed by an aversion to repetition and a persistent desire to break new ground. The possibility that imposed constraints could, paradoxically, yield liberatingly creative and exhilarating results was particularly evident in Carter Tutti Void's Transverse, a recording of a partially improvised performance in 2011.

While known beyond the music world as an artist, Cosey's work has also had a close relationship with the literary world. In the 1970s her poetry appeared in Paul Buck's Curtains, a journal which was instrumental in introducing the work of French avant-garde writers such as Maurice Blanchot and Georges Bataille to an English readership. She participated in Violent Silence, an event celebrating the work of Bataille in the Bloomsbury Theatre in London in 1984, also featuring performances and readings from Marc Almond, Derek Jarman, and transgressive French novelist Bernard Noël.

Her only solo album, Time To Tell (Flowmotion, 1983 - CTI, 1988), contains three lengthy 1982 electronic compositions originally meant to accompany her art performances. The instrumental Ritual Awakening has a slowly unfolding folkish melody that gets drained by ominous rumbles and dissonances until only creepy drones are left. Initially the 23-minute The Secret Touch appears to be a spoken-word piece over multiple industrial rhythms, but an elegant transition leads to the rhythm being hypnotically streamlined and the spoken voice being replaced by a collage of found voices and elongated distortions; in the third part the recitation resumes but the throbbing (or, better, quivering) soundtrack to her erotic monologue has now acquired strong oneiric and psychedelic qualities. The 17-minute instrumental Time To Tell stages gently rolling galactic drones over an ominous alien pulsation, something in between Klaus Schulze's Irrlicht and a funereal march of androids. This album represented the unlikely meeting of the "music from the death factory" aesthetics with the new-age aesthetics. The subliminal trance of this work is way more original and ambitious than Chris & Cosey's synth-pop

A repackaged and re-mastered reissue of the original 1983 cassette and book issue. Certain sections of this were recorded in 1981 and because of the basic equipment it was recorded on, should not be compared to today's standards.

A surprisingly straight-ahead record given the pair's history, Songs of Love and Lust is a set of chilling synth-pop tracks with the added emotionless vocals of Cosey herself. They're just as extended as the tracks on Trance, ferocious and relentless electronica! This is an album which demands re-examination and a reappraisal. All the later Club/Rave culture music owes something to this recording, either directly or indirectly. The sounds are hard edged and the rhythms compulsive and throbbing. The heavy use of sequencers and raw, powerful synthlines makes this album the most listenable by C&C and makes it fit perfectly among the minimal synth / wave genre.

Exotika was the duo's first album as part of a North American agreement with Nettwerk Records (also the home of Skinny Puppy) and, while it does represent a leap in technology over their early work. The opening remix of "October Love Song" summarizes the mid-'80s, at least for the lucky ones. Keyboard motifs are the equivalent of a pelting with meringue in a mix where there's still plenty of room for the requisite breathy vocal as well as touches of abstract effects. Only one thing would halt the use of the word "sexy" as a description for this track

Attention will waver as "Relay" proceeds from the "Oh Mickey" riff to bargain-bin exotica. It isn't quite a complete doze-off, nor will the aroma of the subsequent "Smell the Roses" awaken the unconscious like a dose of smelling salts. It is lazy, dreamy, echoey, with a vocal atop that wavers between Pink Floyd, Jandek, and Daniel Johnston. The flip side of the EP makes a strong case for redemption of this effort. The question is will the listener still be awake to manipulate the record player, perhaps by then having passed the release off as simply one great song plus filler. "Love Cuts," again a remixed presentation, starts off bravely and sustains an extended form, the musical equivalent of taking deep breaths when stressed. In this case the vocal sound, although hardly beautiful, manages to fill the niche it is intended to, other corners chiseled in with evocative and imaginative drumbeats and a range of other hypnotic effects. This is a creation that holds up well against so much similar material that has been issued in the ensuing decades, a compliment that is also meant to acknowledge the amount of technological development in electronic music-making apparatus since that time. Chris Carter and Cosey Fanni Tutti were never just about gear by any means, though -- their sense of atmosphere and drama, when engaged, makes this electronica of more than average interest.

RhoDeo 1544 Re-Ups 37

Hello, with 30 re-ups today a substantial part of the requests have been fullfilled, alas ther's a back log of at least one week !

Looka here another batch of 30 re-ups .. ...N' Joy

RhoDeo 1544 Quest 14

Hello, well my F1 race prediction yesterday didn't come about, guess my seeer skils are limited. It was a bad luck Ferrari race without rain and some dubious calls from the pits but in the end not much had changed from the starting grid order, the Mexicans could have done with some more action for the first race there in 23 years. That said local hero Perez came in eight keeping Verstappen at bay. Rosberg won this time after getting muscled out by Hamilton in the previous 3 races, he's an excellent driver but lacks the killer instinct, he will never be worldchampion as long as Hamilton is driving the same car.

Looks like the crashed plane was bombed, if Putin finds out IS did it I'd advice those still living in Raqqa to flee because the Russians are known to take these things very seriously, and they will raze that town (presumed to be the capitol of islamic state) to the ground.

Original listeners had to wait for a year for the new season to start, but here its just a week...

Sundaze 1544

Hello, now it's hard to get away from the Halloween nonsense these days, i really dislike the american horror culture that thru its well financed terror sellers, gets exported to the rest of the world. It should come as no surprise that these are the forces of evil at work. What was once a time to contact and show respect for the dead, has once again getting the N.W.O. treatment (war=peace). But that's not all, being exposed to terror images cause people to subconsciously become more rightwing (true that !), hardly surprising then that US elections are held a few days after Halloween, yes the USA would change if from now on elections were held in the spring ! USA is a very sick country that has been raped by psycho/sociopaths for many decades (some would say centuries) it won't cure if the rest of the world let's them get away with creating ever more debt without ever repaying, but who's prepared to stand up against the american war machine.

Meanwhile in Mexico city the F1 boys are racing in thin air(=faster cars) and less oxigen for the drivers, could get messy at the end certainly on a wet track. Rosberg on pole but if Hamilton will once again try to bluf him again like last time i expect both to go off, that won't happen because Haliton knows this, he'll probably let Vettel thru to pester Rosberg.

Today we say goodbye to Kitaro, despite this I still have plenty on ice' so who knows someday i will get back to him. This sundaze a sound art project that has released numerous records and CDs in music styles ranging from electro-acoustic, musique concrète, hybridised beats, sound collage, post-industrial music, ambient and noise music. The sound art has been part of an ongoing multimedia campaign of guerrilla sign ontology utilising video art, film, hypertext and other documents.   .  .... N'joy

xxxxx xxxxx xxxxx xxxxx xxxxx

The Nocturnal Emissions project, masterminded by Nigel Ayers, has been on the cutting edge of new music since the 1970s.
Nigel Ayers has been described as a Guerrilla Sign Ontologist, cutting-up and pasting the contents of the human psyche. With a background in avant-garde art, his work has grown from audio visual installations through underground video works which changed the shape of British television.

The project was initiated in Derbyshire in the late 1970s by Nigel Ayers (b. 1957), a former art student who, in the period, lived in London. Together with collaborators Danny Ayers (b. 1964) and Caroline K (1957–2008). From early in their work, the group concentrated on the axiom of music being a form of social control, and highlighted concepts such as information overload, cult conditioning, brainwashing and subliminal advertising, in a critique of information society. Their music drew heavily on worldwide folk traditions as well as that of the European avant-garde. One of their earliest performances was in a railway arch in Atlantic Road, Brixton, while the 1981 Brixton riots raged outside.

In the early eighties Nocturnal Emissions hit London with a barrage of seminal funk; pioneering the use of sound samplers, multi-cultural collage and electronic noise. They became a shape shifting chameleon lightening the darkness of post-industrial music, combining extremist performance art and video displays with apocalyptic beat music. Since 1984 Nocturnal Emissions has continued mainly as Nigel Ayers' solo project. Line-up has varied from one to a dozen musicians. Nocturnal Emissions temporary members have included net artist Stanza, Ben Ponton of Zoviet France and life coach Fiona Harrold.

Nocturnal Emissions ran their own record label, Sterile Records and later worked closely with the editors of the art music label Touch, later with both the Netherlands- based Staalplaat and USA- based Soleilmoon recording labels. All three labels came to the fore as part of 1980s cassette culture.

In 1990–92 Nocturnal Emissions collaborated on Butoh dance performances in Europe & the USA, with the Japanese choreographer Poppo Shiraishi. Around this time Nocturnal Emissions' Situationist-influenced practice became increasingly informed by magick, stone circles, techno–shamanism, neo-paganism, animism and Fortean research. There were many collaborations on animated films by Mancunian TV director Charlotte Bill. Bill was never an official member of Nocturnal Emissions, but admits to being one of the legion of members of The Fall (band) .

However, at the height of their success, the Emissions decided to shun the crass commercialism that had developed around them, and to develop their work as a secret alchemy. Nigel Ayers has continued to work with a strong underground of cult support, avoiding music industry fashions, and following his own creative path he concentrated on creating a strong sense of a wilderness identity through sound.

Between 1980 and 2006, Nigel Ayers has worked as a performing sound artist with performances in USA, Canada, England, Scotland, Czech Republic, Germany, France, Belgium, Netherlands, Austria, Denmark.

Nocturnal Emissions were later to be associated with the Kernow section of the Association of Autonomous Astronauts
and to feature in a best-selling story by the novelist Stewart Home.

Nigel Ayers, the founder of this British trio, live in Newcastle, near Stonehenge, which may explain the fog-haunted, Cimmerian atmosphere of Nocturnal Emissions’ industrial new age. These are curiously restful, these long, droning instrumentals, and develop gradually, like moss growing on the dark side of a dolmen. Gravelly samples – played, according to one article, on Casio SK-5s – add what Pierre Schaeffer called "grain": a rough-edged quality that makes music sound gritty or abraded. The ghost of Kitaro is effectively banished.

The music from Nigel Ayers' Nocturnal Emissions was the most original and unusual coming out of the U.K. at the time. This eagerly awaited cd, Magnetized Light ( the image you see on the cover), contains intimate soundtracks illuminating the human soul with biological intelligence. This is new and exciting music, recorded in collaboration with Charlotte Bill, which penetrates deep into the human psyche with tremendous emotional effects. The listener will be simultaneously creeped out and awe-struck by its surreal sense of presence. Not to be missed by anyone who claims to favor the darker regions of the ambient spectrum.

Slowly pulsating drones, chirping electronics, distant radio static. Ambient or minimal? To answer the question, it might help to go back a couple of millennia to the Epicurians. Today their name mostly evokes indulgence in fleshly pleasures but that only one form of their thinking; the other sought to deny the body excess experiences. Though the difference isn’t always audible, ambient tries to envelop a listener in pleasant fluffiness while minimalism wants to remove any nonessentials to focus more intensely on the sound. Glossalalia can be an involving album, even on repeated hearings, at first, it seems just to flow with no real point, but soon the music racks into focus, much as long-distance runners claim to break through to a type of euphoria. Musical materials this austere, even delicate, can’t be handled abruptly; the long stretches of time are necessary to bring out their unique nature. Just the right number of sonic extremes and surprising twists make it most engaging, and all-told quite original. Glossalalia may not demand too much of your attention but if you listen closely, the experience should be rewarding.

Sound sculptor Nigel Ayers delivers more intriguing soundscapes, intelligently amalgamating electronic, ethnic, and experimental musics, as exemplified by the electro-ethnic industrial hybrid Boo, and the noise-ethno-techno of Load II where organic hand percussion meets a flittering sequencer, dance beats, and backwards flute. And it’s fun, too: every experiment is prefaced by an excerpt from illegally recorded phone calls – truly banal, useless conversations with annoying people.
