Hello, today the 38th post of GoldyRhox, classic pop rock, in the darklight a group that rose to prominence in the mid to late 1970s on the basis of their elaborate live performances, which featured fire breathing, blood spitting, smoking guitars, shooting rockets, levitating drum kits and pyrotechnics, they could have done with Jason masks but they were in touch with their feminine side and applied lots of stylized make-up to the point they were unrecognisable without it, likely made everyday life much easier seeing as they sold millions of albums mainly in their homecountry USA. The band took on the comic book characters Starchild, The Demon, Spaceman or Space Ace, and Catman. Their 'sweethearts' bandname was another joke, anyway they fell apart in the early eighties only to reunite 15 years later for a lucrative worldtour after which the coffers were filled again and they split. Their name is still monetized by half of the band and could still turn up at a place near you, they even promised the fans a new album later this year.

Most of the albums i 'll post made many millions for the music industry and a lot of what i intend to post still gets repackaged and remastered decades later, squeezing the last drop of profit out of bands that for the most part have ceased to exist long ago, although sometimes they get lured out of the mothballs to do a big bucks gig or tour. Now i'm not as naive to post this kinda music for all to see and have deleted, these will be a black box posts, i'm sorry for those on limited bandwidth but for most of you a gamble will get you a quality rip don't like it, deleting is just 2 clicks...That said i will try to accomodate somewhat and produce some cryptic info on the artist and or album.
Todays remastered mystery album came after a big push to cement the band in the US spotlight, the release of 4 solo albums by the bandmembers on the same day 18th of September 1978, despite the marketing blitz and preorders the albums flopped, even worse was their attempt at making a movie, the Phantom of the Park, the bandmembers dropped their shoulders after watching it. Their status was loosing ground. A lot was dependent on todays mystery album, it was released 22th of May 1979, most drumming on it was done by Anton Fig who replaced the injured Catman. The following tour lost money, and on top of that, the crowds on this tour were much younger than previous audiences had been, with many pre-adolescent children in copy makeup with their mothers and fathers (who were sometimes wearing the makeup themselves) in tow at most concerts. The band did little to dissuade this new fan base, donning colorful costumes that reinforced a cartoonish image for these younger fans. Meanwhile the album's single was a huge hit in mainland Europe and reached # 11 in the Billboard 100. All in all enough for yet another platinum record.
