Big Night Music

No big words today, but some big night music, Shriekback. I've been a fan right from their first release the mini album Tench, some years later they gained some commercial succes after their 'spooky' music was used in the movie Manhunter, aswell as in the Miami Vice tv series.
Their previous work was bound by other small companies eager to cash in, discord followed, and thus their discography became confusing, much of their inspired early work hasn't been reissued on cd, let alone remastered, this when their unique sound would certainly suit it.

Here you can find everything you always wanted to know about Shriekback Cleartrails Fansite

Guess what, there's been a new album out for allmost a year now...P.R.oblems , getting the word out aint easy, signing release deals ditto. There's it is, and here you could get it @Amazon Or find your way to Shriekback's website There's music from their latest album to be heard.

Now then, the reason for this blog is the mix cd i made 8 years ago, not content with what i had digitally....and the fact that i allways felt that Shriekback should have released an ambient compilation, stripped of rock and dance, a late night atmospheric album, and so i compiled one. Some tracks are ripped from cd, but most are from vinyl. Madly has been in my overall most played top 10 for years, considering my extensive collection, no mean feat, it must be my late night lifestyle. Time to take a share ..Shriekback..Madly

Talking Ads
I recently uploaded a blast from the past, Talking Heads * Remain in Light, ripped from a dvd A, it comes in 2 parts, as the track with fitting title seen and unseen accidentally was skipped. This gave me an opportunity to offer that track in 3 formats lame @ 320, same filesize Ogg 9 and Ogg 7, latter still better than the lame, at least to my ears , well you can judge for your self.

TH-Remain in .. Light(unseen)

Shriekback... I like some of old stuff of them, but they had a fall down end of the 80s with Gobang. "Lines from the Library" is one of my favourites.

The new Shriekback album, I think is excellent. I agree that "Go Bang" was their lowest point.
