Hello, today the 34th post of GoldyRhox, classic pop rock. Todays artist was a brillant selftaught guitarist and like so many he had his insecurities and depressions to contend with. Then there was the music industry that screwed him during his life, and later shamelessly proceded to make tens of millions from his legacy. Gosh that sounds familiar somehow

Most of the albums i 'll post made many millions for the music industry and a lot of what i intend to post still gets repackaged and remastered decades later, squeezing the last drop of profit out of bands that for the most part have ceased to exist long ago, although sometimes they get lured out of the mothballs to do a big bucks gig or tour. Now i'm not as naive to post this kinda music for all to see and have deleted, these will be a black box posts, i'm sorry for those on limited bandwidth but for most of you a gamble will get you a quality rip don't like it, deleting is just 2 clicks...That said i will try to accomodate somewhat and produce some cryptic info on the artist and or album.

Todays mystery album was released on October 1968, it was the third and final album of new material by the band. It is the only studio album professionally produced under the artists supervision. It topped the Billboard 200 album chart for two weeks in November 1968. The original North American-only Reprise release album cover featured a "fiery" photo of the artists head, later editions saw different covers, including a controversial one showing a bunch of naked women, later the double album was released as two seperate albums as well. The artists studio perfectionism was legendary – he and Mitchell recorded well over 50 takes of "Gypsy Eyes" over three sessions..Many of the album tracks show his vision expanding far beyond the scope of the original trio and saw him collaborating with a range of outside musicians . Expanding was on his mind aswell when pills and psychedelic drugs took over and he saw his band disband summer of 69. Shortly before he died he had stated to a friend. 'I'm having a real bad time with my managers and lawyers' he said. 'They're killing me; everything is wired against me and it's getting so bad I can't eat or sleep...'" No wonder then the self-taught guitarist was terribly unhappy, extremely depressed. September 18, 1970 he was found dead in controversial circumstances.

In 2005 Q magazine readers voted todays mystery album the 38th greatest album of all time; in 2003 , Rolling Stone declared it the 54th greatest album of all time. Obviously it's included in the book 1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die
