Hello, today the 28th post of Goldy Rhox, classic pop rock. Another remaster today, and an unusual format as it is a double compilation album which will be posted in two cd parts, next week the other. Will be no surprise then for those that get it now, full art work etc will disclose everything. And me i get to see how many real fans of this band of brothers are around here.
Most of the albums i 'll post made many millions for the music industry and a lot of what i intend to post still gets repackaged and remastered decades later, squeezing the last drop of profit out of bands that for the most part have ceased to exist long ago, although sometimes they get lured out of the mothballs to do a big bucks gig or tour. Now i'm not as naive to post this kinda music for all to see and have deleted, these will be a black box posts, i'm sorry for those on limited bandwidth but for most of you a gamble will get you a quality rip don't like it, deleting is just 2 clicks...That said i will try to accommodate somewhat and produce some cryptic info on the artist and or album.
Todays mystery album is not a gold record as such, but it's content-a greatest hits compilation- suggests many single golds and that it does. It was a bit of a sleeper as they say, as it took 5 years for it to reach its highest position, #48, in the UK album chart. Bit of a shame really as the songs on this double album are in many cases as well known as those of say the Beatles. Between the mid-1960s and early 1970s, the group released a string of commercially and critically successful singles and LPs, and gained a reputation for songs and concept albums reflecting English culture and lifestyle, fueled by Davies' observational writing style. All ultimately remastered... Njoy all day....and all of the night...
