Marc Cerrone (born 24 May 1952, Vitry-sur-Seine, near Paris, France) is a French disco drummer, singer-songwriter and record producer. He is one of the big names from the disco era, and has sold over thirty million albums and often performed in front of hundreds of thousands of people at huge concerts and events such as The 2005 Dance Party Live in Versailles and The 2000 Los Angeles Millenium Célébration where, at the request of the Mayor of Los Angeles, Cerrone staged the initials Hollywood and produced an exceptional opera. Also in 1989, he performed in the concert at Paris's Place de la Concorde for the celebration of the bicentenary of the Revolution in front of more than 600,000 spectators. In 1991 he performed a concert event for the launch of the first satellite TV HD in Japan (Tokyo). The French just love his self aggrandising streaks ( probably born out of guild for chopping their nobility and forgetting the top clergy).

At the age of 12, Marc started playing drums and listening to Otis Redding songs. At the age of 17, he convinced Gilbert Trigano to hire rock bands for his holiday clubs: Club Med (Club Mediterranée). Cerrone became the A&R scout for 40 Club Med vacation villages around the world, an amazing achievement that would set him on the path to fame and glory. His first recordings as a part of Kongas were released on Barclay Records, where he issued his first hit single, "Boom". He is most famous from the Kongas days for "Anikana-O", co-written and produced by Alec R. Costandinos. Based in Paris, Cerrone recorded, composed, and performed his solo debut "Love In C Minor", again with Costandinos. Released on his own Malligator imprint, and distributed by Warner Filipacci in France, it immediately shocked audiences with its controversial (naked women) cover. Cerrone continued using pieces of photographic and audio erotica when he released his second album, Cerrone's Paradise. It was recorded with Raymond Donnez, also known as "Don Ray", as part of his arrangement entourage.

His third album, Supernature (Cerrone III) sold over eight million albums worldwide. A departure from the lush orchestration with electronic instrumentation added to the mix, it was co-written by Alain Wisniak. The song "Supernature" has a sci-fi theme: it's about the rebellion of mutant creatures — created by scientists to end starvation among mankind — against the humans. It also featured "Sweet Drums", a three-minute-and-ten-second drum breakdown. The original French album cover was again different, having a gatefold opening with nudes in the centre.

After the success of Supernature (Cerrone III), Cerrone IV: The Golden Touch got great reviews in the US and Atlantic threw a party in New York City, October of 1978 that was one of the largest parties ever thrown for an artist up to that point in time. The Album was another Cerrone U.S. disco chart-topper. Driven by "Je Suis Music", "Look For Love", and the urban-slanted "Rocket In The Pocket", this album showed his fusion attributes, foreshadowing his future releases. Cerrone V marked a radical departure for the artist, where he made a full-fledged attempt to become the vocalist, "Rock Me" was the first single and, although clubs reacted fairly well, it did not reach the heights of his previous releases.

Another return to form was his tenth album, Where Are You Now?. Sung by American Carole Rowley and released on Malligator in France, Hi-NRG producer and mixer Ian Levine was tabbed to do the mix, prompting a 12" release on the Record Shack label. In 1984, "Club Underworld" was also released as a single, in both France and the United States. Cerrone's boutique label, Crocos, was the home to a number of independently produced projects. "Africanism" by Kongas, arranged by Don Ray, was an energetic fusion of tribal drum beats and emotive male vocals framed around a cover version of "Gimme Some Lovin'" by Traffic.

Don Ray created a furore with his dance-pop album Garden Of Love, which was written with Cerrone (Lene Lovich lyrics) , the entire album is considered a seminal classic. Hits such as "Got To Have Lovin'", "Body & Soul", and "Standing In The Rain" guided the album to #1 Stateside. In 1992 Cerrone's show "Dream" ran on Broadway at The Ed Sullivan Theater. By the 2000s, Cerrone's European success helped his 2002 hit "Hysteria", and the album become a success. On March 12, 2009 Cerrone released the album "Cerrone by Jamie Lewis" for free on his website. He stated that "music is condemned to be free and that it is necessary to find other solutions to make revenues" (hear, hear ). Meanwhile..Cerrone has won 5 Grammy Awards, some Golden Globes, awards from Billboard Disco Forum events, and gold and platinum discs.

Marc Cerrone is one of masters of the dancefloors pioneer of the musics of nightclubs from disco, dance music, techno, house, groove, garage and today Electro music. He is recognized by the professionals as one of the most influential musicians of the years 70. He is one of the French artists to have strongly contributed to the " French touch " glamour all over the world and particularly in the United States. Cerrone organizes regularly big events or 300 000 persons meet around his music, not just in France but in the US aswell. In 2005 he was promoted to the rank of Commandeur in the Order of Arts and Letters. He's been on the jury for the french version of X factor since 2009.

His latest album, Cerrone Symphony "Variations Of Supernature" reproduces and transfigures his major work, Supernature, 33 years after the original. Totally reorchestrated in a 12 acts / 40 minutes piece,"Variations Of Supernature is as innovative as the 1977 original was ! Back then, Cerrone had stunned both the medias and the artistic world by the philosophy of the lyrics and the quality of the production.... This visionary album was 33 years ahead of its time interrogation about environment issues and the responsibility of mankind over its home planet. In the vein of all the fabulous and spectacular concert-events he has produced around the world, his new challenge is to propose a unique and environment-friendly show entitled Supernature Symphony, where he will perform along with a symphonic orchestra and an electro band. The concert which took take place the 3rd of July in Paris - La Défense was the first step of a worldwide tour, including the cities of Los Angeles, London, Rome, Dubaï, Moscow… (the big numbers again).

Meco (real name Domenico Monardo, born 29 November 1939) is an American record producer and musician, as well as the name of a band or production team based around him. Meco Monardo was born in Johnsonburg, Pennsylvania. His father played the valve trombone in a small Italian band, and through him Meco got his first musical education, his father convinced him that the trombone was the right instrument, and at nine that was the instrument which he was to stay with. At 17, he won a scholarship to the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, New York, which provided him with a solid classical and jazz music education. There, together with his two friends Chuck Mangione and Ron Carter, he started the Eastman School of Music Jazz Band. From 1965 to 1974 he worked as a studio musician. Originally not inclined towards pop music, Meco's heart changed when he heard Petula Clark's "Downtown". He began doing arrangements, as a session musician he played the trombone with acts like Tommy James, Diana Ross and David Barretto.

Around 1973, Meco, Tony Bongiovi, and a third person formed the production company Disco Corporation of America, and from 1974 to 1976 Meco worked as a record producer. The team of Meco, Bongiovi, Jay Ellis, and Harold Wheeler produced the 1974 Gloria Gaynor hit "Never Can Say Goodbye" On 25 May 1977, Meco watched the feature film Star Wars on its opening day. By the second day, 26 May 1977, he had watched it four times, he then got the idea to make a disco version of the score by John Williams. He contacted Neil Bogart at Casablanca Records, but only after the original score had become a huge success did Bogart agree to help Meco realize his idea. Contact was established with Millennium Records, then a Casablanca subsidiary, and this became Meco's first record company. Here Meco rejoined with Tony Bongiovi and he was also able to bring in Harold Wheeler who had also been part of the team behind "Never Can Say Goodbye" in 1974, Lance Quinn was also part of the Meco team. In a matter of just three weeks they arranged and recorded Star Wars and Other Galactic Funk. Although the album was nominated for "Best Instrumental Pop performer" in 1977.

In the fall of 1977, Meco's second album was released. It was another rearranged science fiction movie soundtrack, Encounters Of Every Kind, based on John Williams music for the movie Close Encounters of the Third Kind, from which three singles were released: "Topsy", "Meco's Theme", and "Theme From Close Encounters". Meco's third album came in early 1978, and this time it was the music from The Wizard Of Oz which got transformed into a disco album by the same name, as Meco described: "It is my best work bar none." From this album came the hit single "Themes from The Wizard of Oz: Over the Rainbow/We're Off to See the Wizard".

Casablanca released the fourth Meco album, Superman & Other Galactic Heroes, featuring two hit singles, "Superman Theme" and "Love Theme From Superman". In 1979, the fifth album, Moondancer, was released, and with it the hit singles "Moondancer", "Grazing In The Grass", and "Devil's Delight". In 1980, Meco's sixth album, Music From Star Trek & Music From The Black Hole, was released, featuring the song "Theme From Star Trek". The movie Star Trek: The Motion Picture (1979) featured an original soundtrack composed by Jerry Goldsmith. The last album which Meco made for Casablanca, his seventh, which came out in 1981, was the soundtrack based American Werewolf In London. After this Meco's tenure with Casablanca was over, and he signed up with RCA Records.

“A Huge influence on bands like Daft Punk, SPACE sold 12 million records across 4 albums from 1977-81, and are sadly referred to as one of Europe’s great forgotten innovators of the 1970’s”

Space, formally Didier Marouani & Space, are a French electronic music band from the city of Marseille active from 1977 through 1980 and returning with on-stage remake performances since 1992. They are considered as one of the most notable artists of the short lived space disco music scene, and early pioneers of Eurodance electronica subgenre.

Space was founded in 1977 by Didier Marouani (also known as Ecama), Roland Romanelli, and Jannick Top. The first three albums — Magic Fly, Deliverance and Just Blue — were an immediate success (they sold over 12 million records all over the world).. Although Didier Marouani left the band in 1979, the other two members Roland Romanelli and Jannick Top released in 1980 the album Deeper Zone under the name of Space. Then Space officially split up in 1981.

In early 1980s Didier Marouani, with Janny Loseth of Titanic as lead vocalist, continued to perform and record under the titles of Didier Marouani & Space, and Paris-France-Transit due to release lawsuits. The name "spAce" was legally reacquired after some artistic copyright disputes around 1990, allowing musicians to re-release classic albums and give a European live cover tour in 1993. The first Space album in 21 years, Symphonic Space Dream was released in 2002. Their latest album “From Earth To Mars” was released earlier this year.

The song "Magic Fly" became number one in the world (in record sales, as well as radio and club parades). Together with Cerrone's "Supernature", it was the startsong of a new music genre called "Space Disco" Didier created this masterpiece on a Korg Syth, an Arp Odysse and later on a Prophet 5 synth. The French Foreign Trade Minister André Rossi awarded Didier many golden records for having achieved one of the most important successes within the French record industry..specially their great succes in the former Sovjet Union, where they are seen as real legends. Hansjörg "Giorgio" Moroder (born 26 April 1940, Gröden, Súd-Tirol (german speaking region of Italy) is a record producer, songwriter and performer. His work with synthesizers during the 1970s and 1980s had a significant influence on New Wave, house, techno and electronic music in general. Moroder made his first steps in music bypassing his native country altogether, and making a name for himself in studios around Germany in the early 1970s, although he released small-batch singles simply as "Giorgio" as early as 1966, singing in Italian, English and German. He first came to prominence in 1969, when his recording "Looky Looky", released on Ariola Records, sold over one million copies, and was awarded a gold disc in October 1970. Often collaborating with lyricist Pete Bellotte, Moroder had a number of hits in his own name including "Son of My Father" in 1972 before releasing the synthesizer-driven From Here to Eternity, a notable chartbuster in 1977, and in the following year releasing "Chase", the theme from the film Midnight Express. All were hits in the UK, in the U.S. and across Europe, and everywhere the disco-mania was spreading.

He founded the former Musicland Studios in Munich which was used as a recording studio for artists including Electric Light Orchestra, Led Zeppelin, Queen and Elton John. He also created his own record label, Oasis Records, which later became a subdivision of Casablanca Records. Moroder became particularly well known for his work with Donna Summer ("I Feel Love" and Love to Love You Baby), In addition Moroder also produced a number of electronic disco hits for The Three Degrees, two albums for Sparks, and a score of songs for a variety of others including David Bowie, Irene Cara, Blondie, Japan, and France Joli...tomorrow more on Giorgio

A US-only release, Giorgio's "Music From Battlestar Galactica" album has not made history quite the way albums like From Here to Eternity and E=MC2 have. The main reason is the cheap attempt at cashing in on Meco's successful disco work-out of "Star Wars" by a similar treatment of "Battlestar Galactica", But then the sidelong track "Evolution" is a fantastic, dark instrumental that keeps developing from one incredible soundscape to another, the track is simply awesome, the most bizarre scary disco you'll ever hear.

RhoDeo 1010 Goldy Rhox 4

Hello, today the 3rd post of the new format; GoldyRhox, classic pop rock , most of the albums i 'll post made many millions for the music industry and a lot of what i intend to post still gets repackaged and remastered decades later, squeezing the last drop of profit out of bands that for the most part have ceased to exist long ago, although sometimes they get lured out of the mothballs to do a big bucks gig or tour. Fact is the music produced back then got released in an environment that wasn't as segmented as later decades..with our current time being totally segmented and i don't talk just in music but everything thats out there, games , the internet that brings everything that has been produced music wise up for grabs..

Now i'm not as naive to post this kinda music for all to see and have deleted, these will be a black box posts, i'm sorry for those on limited bandwidth but for most of you a gamble will get you a quality rip and for the younger visitors, for certain something to confront your parents with (as loud as possible)..don't like it, deleting is just 2 clicks...That said i will try to accomodate somewhat and produce some cryptic info on the artist and or album.

No Eno in sight today, yet as we are in sci fi mode this week, i can say there's that. In fact at the time of it's release i was reading lots of sci fy /.fantasy books and this album fit the bill in fact afterwards i bought their 3 previous albums aswell as the next 4, they are still touring a lot and releasing new material. The current line up has been together now for 38 years (longer then the average marriage !). This album was their breakthru and first platinum disc, many more would follow. I suspect they've sold more albums then Celine Dion (ha). All brought to you courtesy of The Temples Of Syrinx, it would be followed by another strong album included in the package.

Hello, as announced yesterday i will continue posting this week under the "sci fi" banner, futuristic would be a better word, and in the seventies the term would imply technology..computers and synthesisers. Ahead of it all were the Germans and not just thru Kraftwerk as we will see later in the week. Anyway the Brits had a man who's showroom dummy appeal enchanted the public. That and some decent writing skills aswell as a natural aversion to the more base aspects of human life and it's supersticions. Little did he know how his electric friends would leave him after that grand goodbye he did...too many hyped acts would jump into his footseps..and so for 20 years he soldiered on, finally getting some respect ..mainly from peers..and as a recent family man..a new lease on life in the spotlight.. The whole remastering hype supported the release of his more succesful work as the eighties became what they never were at the time, hot !

Born 8 March 1958 in Hammersmith as Gary Anthony James Webb and educated at Town Farm Junior School Stanwell, Ashford County Grammar School, and Brooklands Technical College. Gary had an early ambition to be an airline pilot, but did not gain any academic qualifications; however, he did go on to join the Air Training Corps as a teenager. He then briefly did various jobs . A guitar was purchased for him at an early age and he began writing songs when he was about 15 years old, and played in various bands, including Mean Street and The Lasers, before forming Tubeway Army with his uncle, Jess Lidyard, and Paul Gardiner. His initial pseudonym was "Valerian", probably in reference to the hero in French science fiction comic series Valérian and Laureline. Later he picked the name "Numan" from an advert in the "Yellow Pages" for a plumber "A. Neumann". (Mad ..wink) Subsequently he rose to prominence at the end of the 1970s as front man, writer and producer for Tubeway Army. After recording an album's worth of punk-influenced demo tapes (released in 1984 as The Plan), he was signed by Beggars Banquet Records in 1978 and quickly released two singles, "That's Too Bad" and "Bombers", neither of which charted.

A self-titled, New Wave-oriented debut album later that same year sold out its limited run and introduced Numan's fascination with dystopian science fiction and, more importantly, synthesizers. Tubeway Army's third single, the dark-themed and slow-paced "Down in the Park" (1979) also failed to chart but it would prove to be one of Numan's most enduring songs, it featured with other contemporary hits on the soundtrack for the movie Times Square. After exposure in a television advertisement for Lee Cooper jeans with the jingle "Don't be a dummy", Tubeway Army released the single "Are 'Friends' Electric?" in May 1979. The single took seven weeks before it finally reached #1 at the end of June; the parent album Replicas simultaneously achieving #1 in the album charts.

A few months later Numan found success in the charts on both sides of the Atlantic with "Cars", which peaked at #1 in the UK in 1979 and #9 in US in 1980. "Cars" and the 1979 album The Pleasure Principle were both released under the Numan moniker. A sell-out tour ('The Touring Principle') followed; the concert video it spawned is often cited as the first full-length commercial music video release. The Pleasure Principle was a rock album with no guitars; instead, Numan used synthesizers fed through guitar effects pedals to achieve a distorted, phased, metallic tone. Self-produced in a fortnight for very little money, The Pleasure Principle with its highly distinctive sound, remains one of Numan's most highly-regarded efforts to date.

Numan bewildered the music press. He was a driven, creative, angst-ridden 21-year-old loner who still lived with his parents at the peak of his success. While angry like his punk contemporaries, Numan could not relate to the specific political issues they were singing about. Numan suppressed his anger and "got really hung up with this whole thing of not feeling, being cold about everything, not letting emotions get to you, or presenting a front of not feeling". His persona was aloof, alien and androgynous. Numan was not seen to be part of the punk or New Romantic movements. During this period, Numan generated an army of fans calling themselves "Numanoids".

In 1980 Numan again topped the album charts with Telekon, this final studio album of what Numan retrospectively termed the "Machine" section of his career, saw reintroduced guitars to Numan's music and featured a wider range of synthesizers. The same year he embarked on his second major tour ("The Teletour") with an even more elaborate stage show than The Touring Principle the previous year. By this time he was weary of the pressures of fame and announced his retirement from touring with a series of sell-out concerts at Wembley Arena in April 1981. The decision to retire would be short-lived but it would have a fateful effect on his career, as Numan found the fickle pop audience quickly turned its attention to other artists.

Moving away from the pure electropop that he had made his name with, Numan then experimented with jazz, funk and ethereal, rhythmic pop. His first album after his 1981 farewell concerts was the atmospheric and experimental Dance (1981). . The album featured several distinguished guest players; Mick Karn (bass, saxophone) and Rob Dean (guitar) of Japan, Roger Mason (keyboards) of Models and Roger Taylor (drums) of Queen. However, Numan's career had begun to experience a gradual decline. Each album also saw a new "image", none of which captured the public's imagination to nearly the same extent as the lonely android of 1979. The more upbeat and danceable I, Assassin (1982) fared less well than Dance. Numan supported the album with a concert tour in America in late 1982 (where he was living as a tax exile), which were his first series of live shows since his farewell at Wembley. Warriors (1983) further developed Numan's jazz-influenced style and featured contributions from avant-garde musician Bill Nelson and saxophonist Dick Morrissey (who would play on most of Numan's albums until 1991). Warriors was the last album Numan recorded for Beggars Banquet Records, and was supported by a 40-date UK tour. His look for the album artwork and tour was a Mad Max-influenced black leather costume against a post-apocalyptic backdrop, but this latest image change was scorned by the music press despite the sell-out tour and aggressive vibrancy of his newer sound.

Now battling against the increasing public perception that he was a spent force, Numan issued a series of albums and singles on his own record label, Numa. As the decade continued, he experienced a creative malaise, trying to recapture his former chart glory with less distinguished albums. The first album released on Numa, 1984’s Berserker was also notable for being Numan's first foray into music computers/samplers, in this case the PPG Wave. Berserker moved away from the fluid, fretless sound that characterised Numan's previous three albums, featuring instead harder-edged electric bass and drum sounds. The album was also accompanied by a striking blue-and-white visual image, a tour and a live album/video, but it divided critics and fans and commercially was Numan’s least successful release to that date. This year also saw the death of Paul Gardiner, who was Numan's bassist and friend since his Tubeway Army days, from a fatal heroin overdose. Numan's next album, The Fury (1985), charted slightly higher than Berserker, and featured another new image of white suit and red bow tie. It was the last Numan album to crack the British Top 30.

Numa Records, folded after the release of Numan's Strange Charm album (1986). In addition to Numa's commercial failure, a lack of radio play (his records were removed from the BBC Radio 1 playlist) and sales had drained the fortune (estimated £4.5 million) he had amassed in the late 1970s. Numan signed to IRS Records and his final studio album of the 80s, the edgy, industrial-funk Metal Rhythm (1988) found favour with fans and scored some positive reviews in the UK music press, but it sold poorly.

In 1991, Numan ventured into film-scoring by co-composing the music for The Unborn with Michael R. Smith (the score was later released as an instrumental album in 1995, Human). After Outland (1991), another critical and commercial disappointment and his second and last studio album with IRS, Numan reactivated Numa Records, under which he would release his next two albums. However, even Numan considers his 1992 Machine + Soul, a misguided attempt at a purely commercial release recorded solely to pay off debts, a career low point. The album sold only a few thousand copies. By 1994, Numan decided to stop attempting to crack the pop market and concentrate instead on exploring more personal themes, including his vocal atheism.

His future wife Gemma encouraged him to strip away the influences of the previous years. Numan re-evaluated his career and went in a harsher, more industrial direction with his songwriting on the album Sacrifice — for the first time he played almost all the instruments himself. The move was critically well-received, as Numan's harder and darker sound emerged just as Numan-influenced bands like Nine Inch Nails were enjoying their first rush of fame. Sacrifice was the last album Numan made before shutting down Numa Records permanently. His next two albums, Exile (1997) and Pure (2000), restored his critical reputation. Numan even toured the U.S. in support of Exile, his first stateside concerts since the early 1980s.

Numan has become acknowledged and respected by his peers, with such musicians as Dave Grohl (of Foo Fighters and Nirvana), Trent Reznor (of Nine Inch Nails), and Marilyn Manson proclaiming his work an influence and recording cover versions of old Numan hits. The band Basement Jaxx had a huge hit in 2002 with "Where's Your Head At?", which relied on a sample of Numan's "M.E." - from The Pleasure Principle - for its hook. Other musicians, and at least one comedian, who have sung Numan's praises in recent years include Beck, Grant Nicholas, Tricky, Damon Albarn & Matt Sharp, Jarvis Cocker, Queens of the Stone Age, David Bowie, Noel Fielding and Afrika Bambaataa, who spoke of the influence Numan's music had on the fledgling American DJ scene: "In the late 70s and early 80s Gary had the rhythms that DJs wanted to get hold of and people waited for his records on the dance floor." "Cars" was also featured on the soundtrack for the blockbuster 2002 videogame Grand Theft Auto: "Are Friends Electric" appeared on EA's game Need For Speed: Carbon in 2006.

In 2002, Numan enjoyed chart success once again with the single "Rip", reaching #29 in the UK chart and in 2003 with the Gary Numan vs Rico single "Crazier", which reached #13 in the UK chart. Rico also worked on the remix album Hybrid which featured reworkings of older songs in a more contemporary industrial style as well as new material. Other artists and producers who contributed on these remixes included Curve, Flood, Andy Gray, Alan Moulder, New Disease and Sulpher. 2003 also saw Numan performing the vocals on a track named "Pray For You" on the Plump DJs album Eargasm, which was well received.

In 2004 Numan took control of his own business affairs again, launching the label Mortal Records and releasing a series of live DVDs. In late 2006, Numan announced on his website that recording would begin on his new album in January 2007, with Ade Fenton co-producing. The album, Jagged, was duly released on 13 March 2006, followed by UK, European and US tours in support of the release. He sold out a fifteen-date UK tour in Spring 2008 during which he performed his 1979 number one album Replicas in full, and all the Replicas-era music including B-sides. The highly successful tour also raised Numan's profile in the media again due to the fact that it coincided with his 30th anniversary in the music business.

Numan married a member of his own fan club, Gemma O'Neill. In 2003, after some pregnancy difficulties, the couple had their first child, Raven. In 2005 they had a second daughter, Persia. In 2007 the couple had their third child, Echo. He published his autobiography, Praying to the Aliens, in 1997

Numan's "Electric" leap to fame meant he had to bring out an album to keep himself current and The Pleasure Principle was released in September 1979. Unlike 'Replicas' which soundwise has a more earthy, warmth to it, despite the use of synthesizers. The Pleasure Principle gets the cold clinical feel of the synthesizer across very well, it paints a picture of the alientation of dystopias. Mix that in with some teen angst, which fitted in with well with the angst of your mum not letting you be a punk, but would at least let you wear black and little eyeliner....

Lloyd James, (born in 1947, Montego Bay, Jamaica), is better known as Prince Jammy or King Jammy the dub mixer and record producer. After earning money from building amplifiers and repairing electrical equipment from his mother's house in Waterhouse in the late 1960s, he started his own sound system. He also built equipment for other local systems. After leaving Jamaica to work in Canada for a few years in the early 1970s, he returned to Kingston in 1976 and set up his own studio at his in-laws' home in Waterhouse, and released a couple of Yabby You productions. When Phillip Smart left King Tubby's team to work in New York, Jammy replaced him, getting to work with the likes of Bunny Lee and Yabby You. For the first few years of his career, Jammy almost exclusively made Dub.

In 1977, Jammy was enlisted to mix the dub counterpart to "In the Light," Everton DaSilva's classic production for Horace Andy. The versions Jammy concocted simultaneously proved that he was well versed in the techniques acquired from Tubby and that he had developed a distinct mixing voice of his own. That same year, he made his first notable venture into production work, recording the debut of Black Uhuru, a young vocal trio from Kingston. The resulting Love Crisis (and its remixed incarnation, Black Sounds of Freedom) represented a breakthrough for both parties. In the late 1970s he began to release his own productions, including the debut album from Black Uhuru in 1977. Before he set out to rule modern dancehall as King Jammy, Lloyd James earned the lesser, but still regal title Prince Jammy, In the 1980s, he became one of the most influential producers of dancehall music. His biggest hit was 1985's "Under Me Sleng Teng" by Wayne Smith, with an entirely-digital rhythm hook. Many credit this song as being the first "Digital rhythm" in reggae, leading to the modern dancehall era.

Jammy's productions and sound system dominated reggae music for the remainder of the 1980s, Jammy continued to produce and record into the '90s, a decade that would see his own son, John John, emerging as a successful record-maker. Perhaps more importantly, the '90s also witnessed a number of reissues of Jammy's classic mixing work. London's Blood and Fire produced Dub Gone Crazy and Dub Gone 2 Crazy, compiling versions the Waterhouse team (Tubby, Jammy, Scientist, and Smart) mixed for Bunny Lee during the late '70s, while Pressure Sounds' The Crowning of Prince Jammy drew from the same period. And so he continues to work as a producer, working with some of today's top Jamaican artists.

Following on the heels of similar sci-fi themed albums from Scientist and others on the On-U Sound label, this album shows Prince Jammy at the top of his game. Anchored by the rock-solid Roots Radics rhythm section, the spacious echo and reverb effects are peppered with strange noises--suggesting an alien encounter or outer-space battle.

Earth Search 1010

Hello, well the Wiki man is still on his way, despite two vague swedish bimbo's..why haven't we read anything about these types ? Would that be on purpose ? Will they be suicided or return to active secret service with a new wig and identity. Whatever is going on, it remains a sad fact so many men are asthonishingly easy seduced, and played. And now Interpol wants him..duh and Paypal no longer wants to profit from the donations ...Still Wiki man has a fat ace up his sleeve , one that he's shown just not the colour, american megabanks dirty laundry, should he draw it, the sept.2008 crash could be peanuts, and maybe finally the general public would come out and hang some bankers, it's high time a real example was made. Meanwhile in the UK Primeminister Cameron's "Big Society" initiative delivers first successes thanks to the UK Uncut initiative blocking highstreet shops owned by billionaire/multinational Tax dodgers , now there's the spirit, way to go guys and girls ! Now if only the government would tell those dodgers "sorry guys we have no money to send the police to keep your doors open " Ah yes if only.. Meanwhile Earth Search has reached it's final episode..have they found a renamed Earth ? Will those pestering megalomaniac supercomputers let them be.?...Doubtful, that's why next week Earth Search II sees the light with 10 more episodes....

The Setting

Some years before the story opens, the huge Earth starship Challenger, on a mission to find Earth-like planets for colonization, encountered a meteoroid shower that killed all of the adult crew and seriously damaged the ship. The only human survivors were four babies - two boys, Telson and Darv, and two girls, Sharna and Astra. The four have been raised from childhood by androids and tutored by two disembodied voices called Angel One and Angel Two. Most of the humans believe the voices are real angels, but Darv is more suspicious and believes they are actually computers.

Darv is correct. The Angels are the Challenger's ancillary control computers. Due to a fault in their design they have become megalomaniacal and want to return to Earth and rule it. It was they who deliberately manoeuvred the Challenger into the path of the meteoroids and shut off the ship's defences. Unfortunately for them, they underestimated the amount of damage that would result, not only to the ship but themselves. As a result they have lost an unknown amount of potentially vital information about the nature of space and time.....

The starship Challenger has returned home and the crew have discovered the Earth has vanished and been replaced by the moon, not only that they find their lives in peril from a once benign force.Researching this 'new' solar system is essential to get some answers....Darv and Astra of the Challenger crew land on a strange planet, Zelda 5, and are taken prisoner by the inhabitants of Zelda 5. Their fate is death, luckily the found another path to search for Paradise...What they found was the Challenger's sister ship where its population know nothing of life beyond their own craft. Having liberated themselves from the unwanted attentions they get a big shock as their home base Challenger decided to go it alone so it seems..More rampant robotics coming up, nobody seems to care about that old first law of robotics..thou shalt not kill humans (ahum, tell that to the cylons. Finally ! The crew finally find an earth-like planet called Paradise, alas their foe, the Angels, are by no means beaten.

Sundaze 1010

Hello, what can I say..i was a bit confused yesterday-it seems the cold can do that to you- anyway i was posting for friday on saturday ooops, can happen not that it matters much, Blaxplotation is a great compilation..On to the matter at hand, there was some deliberate confusion about who was behind the moniker Astrobotnia, the connection to the Aphex Twin was obvious music and label wise but..another name was dropped who subsequently disappeared from view so forget about Kristian, one Aleksi Kristian Perälä ( finnish) is listed as the man behind Astrobotnia at Discogs. I'd say make your own mind up...

xxxxx xxxxx xxxxx xxxxx xxxxx

The Aphex-founded and self-described "braindance" label Rephlex released the first three Astrobotnia efforts within a month of each other, never actually disclosing who made them. Which has conveniently left people placing bets that Astrobotnia is really Richard D James returning to form in disguise. Rephlex remained swinishly silent. How tempting it is, after one pass through two albums (Part One and Part Three) and their companion twelve-inch (Part Two), to conclude that the rumors are truth. The chiming synth pads, intricate drum programming, and loopy but captivating melodic eccentricity certainly point in his direction. Rephlex assured that it's not actually Aphex, but rather the work of one Kristian Richards--still not true it was Aleksi Kristian Perälä (Ovuca), who seeming to be a new artist on the roster making his debut on the label. The fact remains that Astrobotnia Part 01 is a pretty credible and interesting release even though it sounds a lot like something Richard D James would have been involved with.

The two CD releases are true to the Rephlex school of sound design: geared for home-listening rather than club use, and riddled with fearsome drum machine programming and gleaming ambient chords which surf the crests of adapted jungle rhythms. Though Astrobotnia, wisely, shows delicacy with the opener to Part One, "Lightworks". Emerging from the far distance, echoed crackles and faint explosions of fireworks. Astrobotnia deftly morphs these firework sounds into a fragile but complex series of beats, which he binds together with a shimmering belt. "Hallo" spends three-quarters of its length pitting breaks against beatlessness until Astrobotnia relents and allows the beatless to shimmer towards the final fade. It then runs through a series of lovely IDM pieces, most of which are accentuated with all the styles you're likely to find on most releases of this genre.

Released on a twelve-inch, the six untitled tracks that comprise Part Two are primed and cut for clubs, recalling the intoxicating pounding excesses of Squarepusher's Big Loada. " Phased, flanged, and timestretched with caustic rips and ambient nastiness. The final track recapitulates much of the previous five, but adds a humorously dated future-sound with Astrobotnia's widespread use of retro-spacy BBC Radiophonic Workshop vibes.

Part Three returns to the expansive headspace of Part One, albeit with a more malevolent undertow. Here, the elements that make Part One so lush and celebratory are curiously corrupted.

RhoDeo 1009 Grooves

Hello, after almost 10 weeks since the restart it was high time i posted something in the fridaynight groove corner. Music to dance to and warm those freezing feet. Numerous compilations of '70s soul, funk, and fusion have been compiled in the name of blaxploitation throughout the years, whether or not all the inclusions were actually used in blaxploitation films (granted, just about everything from this era was fit for soundtrack use). Blaxploitation films have made a profound impact on contemporary hip hop culture too, several prominent hip hop artists have taken the no-nonsense pimp persona popularized first by ex-pimp Iceberg Slim's 1967 book Pimp and then by films such as Super Fly, The Mack, and Willie Dynamite, as inspiration for their own works. Here's 170 min. of grooves there to take in..

xxxxx xxxxx xxxxx xxxxx xxxxx

Blaxploitation is a film genre that emerged in the United States in the late 1960s when many exploitation films were made specifically (and perhaps exclusively) for an audience of urban black people, these films were the first to feature soundtracks of funk and soul music. When set in the Northeast or West Coast of the U.S., Blaxploitation films tend to take place in the ghetto, dealing with hit men, drug dealers and pimps. The genre frequently takes place in an atmosphere of crime and drug-dealing. Ethnic slurs against whites (e.g., "honky"), and negative white characters like corrupt cops, politicians, prostitutes and gullible gangsters were common. Blaxploitation films set in the South often take place on a plantation, dealing with slavery and interracial marriage/sex.

Despite the civil rights movement of the sixties, a large section of black Americans remained frustrated and marginalised. Unrest and rioting spread from the southern states across America exacerbated by the murder of Marin Luther KIng and Malcolm X. With no signidicant black owned radio-stations or press, vinyl was the main medium for the Black Power message. By the early '70's social commentary was rife in the groovesfrom the more militant (Last Poets) to the well known (M.Gaye, Staple Singers). Along these strong musical messages black action movies were providing escapism that proved immensely popular with the black movie-goers. Many of these films featured funk and soul jazz soundtracks with heavy bass, funky beats and wah-wah guitars. These soundtracks are notable for a degree of complexity that was not common for radio-friendly funk tracks and rich orchestration that included uncommon instruments such as flutes and violins.

RhoDeo 1009 Goldy Rhox 3

To last weeks 'gamblers's' a leg up, consider the groupmember that left after last weeks GoldyRhox release..He produced this album to the bewilderement of their label and management who thought him unsuitable, despite the considerable succes he had producing the GoldyRhox 1 artist, in the end it was the decisive support of the bands guitarplayer , who btw never sounded better as on this album. It resulted in what many see as a pivotal album in the ungoing career of todays band. The forceful nature of previous succesful albums was transformed into a more trancedental, soulful approach that may have annoyed some of their previous fans but at the same time opened up to new fans, as for sales it did just aswell..but all of a sudden this new path opened up for the band, aswell as a potentially far larger fanbase. This new path would pay out when the follow up album, again with the same producer, achieved double the sales of the already multiple platinum previous albums. This here is a remaster that comes with a link to an excellent bonus album.

Hello, today some American punk history, The Dead Kennedys, sadly they've fallen out over money, rights etc - interestingly at the time of the courtcase against them the bandmembers felt no need to share the heat..over a silly poster with penesis instead of those beloved guns..personally i saw a strong advert for protected sex...but that word gets the smallminded American middleclass in a frenzy too, beyond hypocrital more like insane..Horror/violence..good...Love/Sex...bad. How twisted an upbringing American youths get..Sad...Anyway 3 years ago i started to rip my Fresh Fruits album, ..alas the poor pressing together with it's punked use made it a hopeless case. As these things go a few months ago i came across this compilation in a sec hand shop..had to pick it up, they belong to music's history !

xxxxx xxxxx xxxxx

Dead Kennedys formed in San Francisco, California in June 1978, when East Bay Ray (Raymond Pepperell) advertised for bandmates after seeing a ska-punk show at the Mabuhay Gardens. They were heavily influenced by the bands they saw there. The original DK lineup consisted of Jello Biafra (Eric Reed Boucher) on vocals, East Bay Ray on guitar, Klaus Flouride (Geoffrey Lyall) on bass, and 6025 (Carlos Cadona) on drums. This lineup recorded their first demos. In early July, the band wanted a more experienced drummer, so they recruited Ted (Bruce Slesinger). Drummer 6025 left the band, but he was invited back as second guitarist. Their first show was on July 19, 1978, at the Mabuhay Gardens in San Francisco, California.Their music mixed the more experimental elements of British 1970s punk with the raw energy of the 1980s American hardcore punk scene.

Dead Kennedys' songs mixed deliberately shocking lyrics with satirical and sarcastic criticism of social and political issues of the Reagan era. Their name was not meant to insult the assassinated Kennedy brothers, but to quote Biafra, "to bring attention to the end of the American Dream". In June 1979, the band released their first single, "California Über Alles", on the Alternative Tentacles label. In early 1980, they recorded and released "Holiday in Cambodia". Later that year, the band released their debut album, Fresh Fruit for Rotting Vegetables. It reached #33 in the UK Albums Chart. In January 1981, Ted announced that he wanted to leave to pursue a career in architecture, his replacement was D.H. Peligro (Darren Henley).

1981's In God We Trust, Inc. EP saw them moving toward full on hardcore/thrash. In addition to the EP's controversial artwork depicting a gold Christ figure on a cross of dollar bills, the lyrics contained Biafra's most biting social and political commentary yet. The following year (1982) they released a full album, Plastic Surgery Disasters. The album's cover (won the 1980 World Press Photo) features a withered starving African child's hand being held and dwarfed by a white man's hand. Musicwise the band had evolved much in a short time, moving away from hardcore formulas toward a more innovative jazz-informed style, featuring musicianship and dynamics far beyond other bands in the genre. By now the group had become a de-facto political force, pitting itself against rising elements of American social and political life such as the religious right, Ronald Reagan and the idle rich.

While they continued to play live shows during 1983 and 1984, they took a break from releasing new records to concentrate on the Alternative Tentacles record label, which would become synonymous with DIY alternative culture. The release of the album Frankenchrist in 1985 showed the band had grown in terms of musical proficiency and lyrical maturity. While there were still a number of loud/fast songs, much of the music featured an eclectic mix of instruments including trumpets and synthesizers. However, the band got embroiled in an obscenity trial in the US over the artwork of their album, Frankenchrist, which included the explicit titular subject of H. R. Giger's Penis Landscape. The band was charged with distribution of harmful matter to minors, but the trial ended with a hung jury. Nevertheless it all but ruined their recordlabel Alternative Tentakels and all so unnecessary 12 years earlier the album by E.L P. - Brain Salad Surgery had basicly the same poster added together with more wonderful album artwork by Giger..presedence like that should have thrown the case out or possibly kept the band from using it...

The Frankenchrist album got shunned by the shops fearful of recieving lawsuits..it hastened the end for the Dead Kennedys. In addition to the obscenity lawsuit and being ignored by the mainstream media (MTV and most radio stations gave such groups scant notice, not to mention airplay), the band became increasingly disillusioned with the "underground" as well. The band continued to work on songs, with Biafra penning songs such as "Chickenshit Conformist" and "Anarchy for Sale", which articulated their feelings about the "dumbing down" of punk rock. During the summer they recorded these songs for their final album, Bedtime for Democracy, which was released in November. The artwork, depicting a defaced Statue of Liberty overrun with Nazis, media, opportunists, Klan members, corrupt government officials, and religious zombies, echoed the idea that the punk scene was no longer a safe haven for "your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free". In December, the band announced their split

Dead Kennedys released five studio albums before officially disbanding in 1986. In 2001, the band reformed without original singer Jello Biafra, who had been in a legal dispute with the other members over royalties. The band will played three dates in October 2010. On one of the dates, they debuted two of their first new songs since 1986, "Area 51" and "You're Such a Fake".Since the dissolution of Dead Kennedys, Biafra has continued to collaborate and record with other artists, including Lard, Mojo Nixon, Al Jourgensen of Ministry, and The Melvins, and has gone on to be a spoken word performer, covering political topics in particular.

Hello, today there's plenty to get exited about, were it not that it's Sundaze. One of those things that happen whilst researching is that one finds albums that were missed and so earlier i got the awardwinning DJ Sprinkles album aswell as Thaemlitz mix album..You again? Hmm.. not that i haven''t got much time to listen but what i'm hearing currently is most agreeable..and so we come to the first artist of the day Terre Thaemlitz , i posted some of his work before, noticable as links in the text..The album here is very ambient. severe at times--in great contrast to say KLF's Chill out. Second Theorem (Dale Lawrence) in a sense Richie Hawtin's wingman not surprisingly he's the only one on Hawtins M_nus label (beside's the master) Dale is more relaxed, ambient in his approach to techno. Third today is PanAmerican or Mark Nelson who's bubbly trancy ambient releases himself from the intense art band Labrador..I know it's almost too much to take in, but give it a try..

New York-based composer Terre Thaemlitz is one of only a handful of significant American artists working in the new ambient vein. He's released the bulk of his material through the Instinct Ambient label, but has also issued tracks (under his own name and as Chugga) on his own Comatonse label and through others. Although Thaemlitz's entre into electronic came in a somewhat traditional fashion -- as a house DJ -- his explorations in electronic abstraction have been anything but, focusing on themes of abjection, alienation, fracture, and contradiction in his music. Thaemlitz's recorded work, collected on albums such as Tranquilizer and Soil, is closer in tone to ambient-leaning industrialists He's also recorded with Bill Laswell, releasing Web in 1995, and done remix work for Interpieces Organization and the Golden Palaminos, among others.

Born in Minnesota and raised in Missouri, Thaemlitz moved to New York in the mid-'80s to pursue art scholarship at Cooper Union. Soon distracted by the growing New York house scene, he began DJing at drag balls and benefits, leading to an Underground Grammy for best DJ in 1991. Although primarly a dancefloor DJ, Thaemlitz's insistence upon integrating house music's more simplistic monotony with challenging, complicated breaks and references earned him an uneasy relationship with club promoters looking for DJs whose only commitment was the 4/4 beat. Retiring from club DJing in the early '90s (although he continues to spin experimental electronic music at art galleries, one-offs, and in other marginal contexts), Thaemlitz began making his own tracks, beginning with house but quickly moving into genre defying fusions of funk, soul, disco, and musique concrete, and eventually settling into experimental ambient. One of his earliest works, "Raw from a Straw," in addition to limited release through his own Comatonse label, appeared on an early ambient compilation on Instinct, and earned him an almost instant reputation. He's since fortified that with a pair of full-length releases remarkably free of many of the cliched conventions of club-drived ambient.

Electro-acoustician Thaemlitz took the long road around expectation for his Mille Plateaux debut, opting for a set of solo piano extrapolations of songs by Kraftwerk,, "Roboter Rubato" . Built on a high-clearing deck of post-industrial cultural analysis over the course of its seven-plus pages of liner notes, the music on the disc requires little in the way of explanation. Thaemlitz' sparse, inventive interpretations are pleasing enough on their own. Thaemlitz: " I don't play piano, but I've always been aware of the ability for persistent "unskilled" improvisation to invoke a sense of competency, if not virtuosity. 2 years later he released another tribute , this time to his childhood favourite, Gary Numan, "Replicas Rubato" (Mille Plateaux, 1999), both accompanied by thoughtful, philosophical liner notes.

The theoretical component of the program gets a little out of hand with Means From An End (Mille Plateaux, 1998), Institutional Collaborative (Mille Plateaux, 1998), Love For Sale (Mille Plateaux, 1999), Interstices (Mille Plateaux, 2000), all of them based on computer processing of found sounds. Fagjazz (Comatonse, 2000) is a two-disc monolith. The first disc is an anthology of early, hard to find tracks. The second disc is an hour of improvisation with a jazz ensemble. In 2001 he relocated to Japan. in 2003 Terre released Lovebomb (Mille Plateaux,, yet another exercise in collage of samples and tape manipulation that rarely (Between Empathy and Sympathy is Time, Sintesi Musicale del Linciaggio Futurista) elicits emotions and most often sounds like advertising for the specific devices that he is using.

These past years Terre divided his attention between film/video and music, under his alias DJ Sprinkles he's released a number of 12"as well as an deep house album, Midtown 120 Blues. Under his own name, Transister and the You? Again? cyclus and several releases as the Kami-Sakunobe House Explosion K-S.H.E (how's that for one androgyne's moniker ?)

Dale Lawrence is a creative Web designer-illustrator by day and the one-man ambient techno, Theorem by night. On this first full-length compilation of Theorem’s 12" single releases over the last year, Lawrence proves himself a reverent and, better still, competent successor to the moody, patient, headphone techno favored by the likes of Kenny Larkin and Carl Craig over the past five years. Lawrence’s MO is to build a mood, not play it, which is why he prefers dub-softened drum sounds and long, room-temperature synth washes to make his tracks as textural as they are musical – as the binary-dub of the opening "Debris" evidences with its plush, gray electronic funk.

Where Ion as a whole really shines, in its quietly glowing way, is in showcasing the album-spanning range of Lawrence’s minimal-yet-full production touch. Certainly a bedroom producer-student of early Brain Eno, and not too far from the Plastikman effects-rack experiments of Consumed, Lawrence makes music you can listen to an album’s worth at a time and don’t have to be a DJ to appreciate. A very unique album in the minimal, techno, ambient realm.

Pan American is the alter ego of Mark Nelson, vocalist and guitarist for the band Labradford, who first began recording under that moniker in 1997. During that summer of 97, he started recording a full length album for Kranky at home and at Sound of Music Studios in Richmond, Virginia. Mark's contributions to Labradford as the trio's guitarist and singer, might prepare the listener somewhat for the debut Pan•American album. Those lucky enough to be in contact with the independent taping community (which is the last, true underground left) and in possession of earlier Pan•American cassettes may be somewhat forewarned. But who could have expected what has emerged from months of sampling, recording, and mixing?

Pan American debuted with a self-titled album on Chicago's Kranky Records in 1998. Nelson then recorded a track for the British experimentalist-electronic label Fat Cat's Split series, and also played live with pedal-steel genius B.J. Cole. His second Pan American LP, 360 Business/360 Bypass, appeared in early 2000 with collaborations from Chicago trumpeter Rob Mazurek and the members of Low. A series of split CDs followed, including 2001's Personal Settings: Preset 1, and Nelson returned to his full-length efforts with the stripped down 2002 effort The River Made No Sound. Released two years later, Quiet City brought back the textured layers of Pan American's earlier material, while White Bird Release appeared in 2008.

Comprised of 6 long tracks, "360 Business, 360 Bypass" has things in common with both Pole (without all the glitch sounds), as well as different Basic Channel releases. The opening track of "Steel Stars" rumbles along for over 10 minutes with molasses low end and different drones of sound and a touch of clicks. It then fades directly into the second track "Code," which goes into an almost ambient section at the beginning before again locking into a slow groove. Changing things up a bit, Alan Sparhawk and Mimi Parker of Low add almost chant-like vocals to the track, giving it a ghostly quality that works quite well. In addition to the vocals, Nelson lets other more organic elements creep into the tracks in the form of pedal steel guitar (seeping through most noticibly on the beautiful "K. Luminate"), as well as the coronet playing of Rob Mazurek of the Chicago Underground Duo. "Double Rail" moves along with some more luscious bass and a light metallic ping of a beat. One of the qualities of "360 Business, 360 Bypass" is its almost trancelike nature, with warm tones guiding each and every track, providing a real Sundaze soundscape .

RhoDeo 1008 Goldy Rhox 2

Hello, today the 2nd post of the new format; GoldyRhox, classic pop rock , most of the albums i 'll post made many millions for the music industry and a lot of what i intend to post still gets repackaged and remastered decades later, squeezing the last drop of profit out of bands that for the most part have ceased to exist long ago, although sometimes they get lured out of the mothballs to do a big bucks gig or tour.

With such a wide choice available the agony of choice (german saying) sets in, not sure how this will pan out but i want to give last weeks 'gamblers' a leg up with this weeks vague description..

Todays album was released a month earlier than Goldy Rhox 1, originating from the same country where that month bombs went off in the capitol. On the cover a starfucker, girlfriend of the leadsinger who was helped to a musical career by last weeks artist. Todays album was the second of the band and ranks in the alltime billboard 500, afterwards a member left and carved out his own place in music history...the band went on and achieved platinum status a decade later but that says more of the musicworld than the quality. Subsequently the band split and the leadsinger soldieres on until this date..

Hello, . Well, the amount of eighties compilations that have been released these past 2 decades is almost overwhelming, and if you like me regularly browse thru the sales at the big chains or sec hand shops one can pick up plenty for a fiver. Obviously the quality of these samplers isn't always great, many fillers that makes me think what the hell is that. Still there's plenty worth while out there..and obviously way cheaper then buying the odd track at the Steve Jobs Shop. There can be a lot of overlap too and some artists never/rarely seem to appear on samplers. Well ive got some strong samplers on ice , these will appear next year probably, for now you still can choose cd 2 and 3 from last weeks compilation....see if you can compile your own sampler from the 60 tracks and then play it randomly..(a good quality test).

Here are the 2nd & 3rd installment of a great collector’s package , and a further addition/inspiration to anyone planning an 80's party.

Earth Search 1008

Hello, well Vettel became Champion and tonight i watched Alonso sketch what could happen during the pressconference after the penultamate race..amazingly this was exactly what did happen...go figure he didnt heed his own warniing...nuf said about F1..this is all about a spaceship with a couple of confused computers running part of the show..luckily us clever humans are here to save the day ...hmm.. from the mess we created ourselves mostly

Having liberated themselves from the unwanted attentions they get a big shock as their home base Challenger decided to go it alone so it seems..

Sundaze 1008 Inside Out

Hello, today something of an Inside Out episode of Sundaze, some medative, spiritual music, certainly not of the bland muzaklike new age kind, in fact one could say Jonathan Goldman brings an intelectual approach to his music that lifts it . This makes sense as this is exactly the healing purpose of his work. To finish I've added a PDF, just 50 pages about our heart , basicly our brain is confused about it's place in the order of things..hmm tell that to the scientists.

xxxxx

Jonathan Goldman is an author, musician and teacher in the fields of Harmonics and Sound Healing. His interest in using sound as a healing modality originated from his own experiences during live performances as a guitarist in the Boston punk scene in the late 1970s. While playing, he became aware of how sound could be made to affect listeners, determined, in part, by the intention of the musician, not just the physical act of playing an instrument, nor the emotional energy expressed by the musician while playing. Based on these experiences, Goldman began to research the science of sound and music psychology, directing his overall studies towards the use of sound as a healing force.

His research and desire to connect with like-minded people led to his founding of the Sound Healers Association (SHA) in Lexington, MA in 1982. SHA was a small, informal gathering of musicians, artists, scientists, teachers and authors, as well as anyone else who was interested in the topic of sound healing. Meetings were organized by Goldman; they were held in his home once a month and typically included a guest speaker's presentation, followed by a Q&A. During this time, Goldman worked on his Master's Degree program in Independent Study from Lesley University, researching the Uses of Sound and Music for Healing. This work would later become the main source of material for his first published works. He also began recording his own music and he formed Spirit Music, one of the first record labels dedicated to the therapeutic use of sound and music. Spirit Music has recorded and released music by Goldman, as well as Don Campbell, Sarah Benson, Sam McClellan, Laraaji, the Gyume Monks and more recently, Lama Tashi, among others.

Goldman's healing music and writing has been heavily influenced by the early SHA meetings as well as mythology; psychology; multi-cultural music traditions; ancient religions; mathematics and speculative fiction. In short, Goldman has a three-part theory that runs beneath all of his written and music works:
* That everything in the universe is in a state of vibration. Everything is in motion and produces a sound or frequency. This includes the various parts of our body, organs, bones, tissue, etc.
* When we are in a state of "sound" health, everything in our bodies is vibrating in resonance or harmony with itself. When something is vibrating out of harmony, we call this "disease".
* Sound is an energy that can entrain or change the vibrational rate of objects. Therefore, if something is vibrating out of tune or harmony, it is possible to create the correct, natural "resonant" frequency of the out of tune object, project it to that out of tune portion and cause it to vibrate back to its normal, healthy state.

This, in turn, can be summarized as: Frequency + Intent = Healing

During his research, Goldman worked with the Gyume Monks, whose sacred chanting of ancient mantras is said to be encoded with healing properties, and became a student of the monks during their 1988 US Tour. During this time, he learned the art of deep voice chanting and the 'One Voice Chord' technique from the monks. He later went on to meet the Tibetan Buddhist Monk, Rinchen Chugyal, then Chant Master for the Drepung Loseling Monastery. In 1995 Rinchen Chugyal ordained Goldman as a Chant Master, empowering him to teach Tibetan Chanting in the West. Goldman also met and became close to the Venerable Ngawang Tashi Bapu (Lama Tashi), With whom Goldman recorded several sessions of Tibetan chanting was nominated for a Grammy Award in 2004.

Goldman produces and hosts an annual 'Healing Sounds Intensive' course in Loveland, CO. He also hosts private clinics for small groups or individuals. He has lectured and taught internationally at major sound conferences and health expos. He also is the presenter of a monthly online radio show on www.healthylife.net.

Currently there are over 30 albums of Jonathan Goldman's own music released on Spirit Music and other labels. His music has ranged from New Age, Chanting, Ambient, Minimalist, to Techno as well as music intended to be played during specific activities such as meditation, reiki and yoga. He has published, a total of six books in the field of sound healing. Goldman continues to work out of his private recording studio, Spirit Studios, which is located in his home in Boulder, CO.

Goldman has a great website HealingSounds.com where you can get more info and buy most of his work..which I must say is overpriced in the current market and to his own discredit he hasnt set up a download possibility either. Too busy to follow the internet market i presume. Something you shouldnt miss is a visit to the toning chambers at the Temple of Sacred Sound great music and video.

Holy Harmony contains two never before released Sacred Sound: Tuning Forks of the complete Healing Codes of the Bible combined with the chant of YHSHV (Yod Hey Shin Vav Hey), an ancient Name of the Christ. These 9 tuning forks are said to be the Divine frequencies of creation. Some believe the sounding of them is said to fulfill certain Biblical prophecies. Others believe these frequencies have extraordinary healing and transformational properties. The YHSVH Chant is a powerful word of prayer, or a mantra, that is composed of specific letters of the Hebrew alphabet that create a sacred name for the Christ. The Chant can be used for protection, for clearing, and to resonate with the Christ energy. As the Healing Code Tuning Forks sound together with Jonathan Goldman and Sarah Benson’s beautiful and rich choral chanting, they create an extremely powerful , yet deeply calming sonic environment. The combination of the Tuning Forks with the YHSVH Chant is great for relaxation and meditation. These sounds may also be extremely healing and transformational.

Something to read and ponder

You may think it matters what happens. But what if the only thing that matters is where you are experiencing from, where you are looking from? What if you could experience all of life from a spacious, open perspective where anything can happen and there is room for all of it, where there is no need to pick and choose, to put up barriers or resist any of it, where nothing is a problem and everything just adds to the richness of life? What if this open, spacious perspective was the most natural and easy thing to do?

It may sound too good to be true, but we all have a natural capacity to experience life in this way. The only requirement is to look from the Heart, not just figuratively, but to look from the subtle energetic center located in the center of the chest instead of looking out from the eyes and the head—and not just to look, but to listen and feel and sense from the Heart.

In some spiritual traditions we are encouraged to look in the Heart, and yet what does that mean exactly? Often we are so used to looking and sensing through the head and the mind that when we are asked to look in the Heart, we look through the head into the Heart to see what is there. Usually we end up just thinking about the Heart. But what if you could drop into the Heart and look from there? How would your life look right now? Is it possible that there is another world right in front of you that you can only see with the Heart and not with the mind?

This book invites you to explore this radically different perspective and to find out what is true and real when the world and your life are viewed from the Heart of Being. It may both delight and shock you to find that so much richness and wonder and beauty lie so close and are so immediately available to you. But don’t take my word for it. Read along and see if your experience fits with this simple yet profound way to shift in awareness to a more complete view of your life, your world, and ultimately your true nature as that openness and wonder and beauty.
