Inside Out, Worlds

Inside Out Worlds for profound relaxation and enhanced creativity are on offer today, i have to say my visitors look to be sound sleepers as there wasnt really a run on the recent Supersleep post, mind you it works, well maybe todays Hemi-Sync® will stimulate your craving for creativity and imagination, or maybe its my fault and i should have started with the Brainpower cd which i will post next (saturday)..I conclude the first series of shapeshifter cdees here and dont think your DNA is immune to music, vibration is everything.. Jon Hassell spent a lot of time researching music and even got some titles to show for it, and after that went to India to work with Hindustani raga master, Pandit Pran Nath, and embarked on a lifelong quest to transmute his teacher's Kirana vocal mastery into a new trumpet sound and style. Here are his first two Fourth World albums, i specially point to Malay (vol2) with some wonderful aquatic percussion sounds. Too my surprise the second Monroe book has gone out much more strongly then his first book , i wonder if you can take his last one in aswell...Ultimate Journeys.

In 1975, Robert Monroe registered a patent for an audio-visual device designed to stimulate brain functions until the left and right hemispheres became synchronized. Monroe held that this state; dubbed Hemi-Sync® (hemispherical synchronization), could be used to promote mental well being or to trigger an altered state of consciousness. Monroe's concept was based on an earlier hypothesis known as binaural beats and has since been expanded on by the self help industry.

Hemi-Sync® is an audio guidance technology that works quite simply by sending different sounds (tones) to each ear through stereo headphones. The two hemispheres of the brain then act in unison to “hear” a third signal – the difference between the two tones. This is not an actual sound, but an electrical signal that can only be perceived within the brain by both brain hemispheres working together.

About Hemi Sync Metamusic, its more than music. It incorperates evocative sounds and specially blended Hemi-Sync frequencies to guide you into focussed whole brain states of consciousness. Hemi-Sync helps you to achieve and sustain synchronised brainwave activity in both hemispheres of the brain-an optimal condition for improving human performance.

Gaia (Hemi-Sync Meditation) (04 ^ 87mb)

Gaia, composed and performed by Richard Roberts, a muscal portrayel of Kokopelli, the native american mythic hero who restores abundance by bringing forth the second summer rains.
A soulful composition, deeply relaxing flute and guitar blend with exquisit sounds of water that stimulates imagination and creativity. Use Gaia for expanded awareness through musical imagery and self-exploration, for deeper more profound meditation or simply for musical enjoyment. Note, but not whilst driving !

Jon Hassell - Fourth World Musics

Composer/trumpeter Jon Hassell is the visionary creator of a style of music he describes as Fourth World, a mysterious, unique hybrid of music both ancient and digital, composed and improvised, Eastern and Western. After composition studies and university degrees in the USA, he went to Europe to study electronic and serial music with Karlheinz Stockhausen. Several years later, he returned to New York where his first recordings were made with minimalist masters La Monte Young and Terry Riley, through whom he met the Hindustani raga master, Pandit Pran Nath, and embarked on a lifelong quest to transmute his teacher's Kirana vocal mastery into a new trumpet sound and style. In the last two decades, he has recorded 11 solo albums which have, over the years, become so widely appropriated that many of their innovations have become woven anonymously into the texture of contemporary music high and low.

Robert Monroe - Ultimate Journey ( 91 750K PDF)

Monroe is the preeminent explorer and chronicler of out-of-body experiences (OBEs) as well as founder of the Monroe Institute, a nonprofit research organization devoted to studying expanded forms of consciousness. In both his earlier books, Journeys Out of the Body (1973) and Far Journeys (1987), Monroe traversed many bizarre highways of the OBE universe, but here he hops onto the "OBE Interstate," taking us along for a wild ride. In Monroe's unending quest for knowledge beyond the usual human experience, he travels both to distant, nearly inconceivable realms and deep within his "core self" to develop what he calls a different overview.

Utimate Journey charts that area which lies "over the edge," beyond the limits of the physical world. It presents us with a map of the "interstate"--the route that opens to us when we leave our physical lives, with their entry and exit ramps, their singposts and their hazards. It also tells us how Monroe found the route and travelled it, and uncovered the reason and the purpose of this pioneering expedition. It is a journey that reveals basic truths about the meaning and purpose of life--and of what lies beyond.

I include here some abridged reviews which i think are worthwhile taking in. Monroe isn''t the only expert, far from it .
------------------
The idea that this book should be taken with a grain of salt really hit home when I came to part when he discusses the relationship between the left and right hemispheres of the brain. That part is patent nonsense that doesn't even agree with himself, not to mention what everyone else has written also. Still it is an interesting read, however, it is so hard to tell where the B.S. ends and the truthful information begins. Perhaps Monroe did have good intentions, perhaps he was just unknowingly misled by his life experiences and other people. In either case, realize that is book is misinformation, but like most misinformation, it served up surrounded by plenty of truthful information too.
------------------
Above all, Monroe tries to present all this in a calm and fairly objective, almost scientific manner, without the usual touchy-feely trendy 'New Age' kinds of wishful thinking that so often pollute these kinds of subjects. He does gradually bring all the material into a kind of all-inclusive theory or presentation of the purpose of life, our origins, etc., and (mostly) what happens to the 'soul' or 'essence' of us when we depart, and it all rounds in as something pleasant, happy, and optimistic - in other words exactly what the average reader wants to hear. And he may have been right about it all, but it could also be just a little too good to be true, oh well, even if what he writes isn't really true after all, if nothing else it is at least quite entertaining.

  4. Sorry odditonic- The music (?) you produce isn't worth the bits and bites it's made up of. If you produced something worthwhile, I may have seen the validity in your argument, but you haven't. So I don't.
Sorry to say, but, in my opinion people shouldn't have to pay for garbage. Detritus like this should be free.

  5. I just read what Odditronic said,
and what Ashaneen reply, and I can't resist: I love you guys... (figure it out)
One thing, Oddy, before you die from starvation, write a book about your third type encounter, and how E.T. taught you music (?), I bet it will make you a millionnaire (no, don't thank me for the tip, I can't see people suffering, anyway)
Now, serious, many thanks for the nifty ogg encoder/decoder, that's something I haven't seen yet on any other blog, and it seem to be both simple and efficient...
Thanks for the music too (the sleeping bear stuff (Hemi-Sync - Supersleep) got to be a joke, but I'll give it a try) Have a nice day :0)

  6. Robert Monroe is one of the best in this category and his books always surprised me, specially the second one because it was the cleverest book in my life.

  7. Hi Rho

You continue to post fascinating music ... especially the recent Jobim albums.

    Thank you so much!

Is it possible to re-up the Hassell/Eno collaboration?

    Cheers
