Talking Heads

This last week my harddisk send out all the wrong signals, shouldnt be screwing with partitions and think the system adepts any deeper, oh no. Anyway i got the supposedly best recovery program running at this moment , Spinrite 6.0, but things are moving at a very slow pace indeed.

Well it looks as if it's all about music and literature tonight, lets start with the latter.
William Burroughs, a harvard man no less, lived his live in the counter culture, a dirty liberal by today's neo-conmens standards. A strange live it has been, shooting his 2nd wife Joan Vollmer in a wilhelm tell game, shocked him on the path of writing, B was allready on morfine and marihuana in those days ('51). After a trip to south america in search of yage which supposedly would help him kick the habit he returned to write his first novel 'Junkie" . He wrote it under the pen name William Lee as you can see here,a 35 c novel.
One of Burroughs distinguishing feats is his unique voice, something that certainly got picked up by several music artists who later in his life sought to work with him. If you haven't heard his voice yet and for those that can dig some more, a real treat, the master himself reading his first novel , it takes him about 3 hours.

  1. Damn! Left it too late to get the Burroughs, the link is dead! Just wondering if you plan to re-up or not? I know it's a pain, sorry, but I'd love to hear that!

    Thanks for the recommendation.

  3. Ahh! It's not deleted!

Thats what mega says...but the link is wrong...

link has a line break included, I can't paste it here, comments won't allow me...but mouse-over your JUNKIE link, it will show a bracketed "br/"

so mega sees this link: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=AABIT8D6%3Cbr%20/%3E
    and throws an error...

    So just use:

    Hey presto!

Sorry Rho! But thanks for this & the Gumball you pasted! Been downloading the Talking Heads too, amazing how different some of them sound remastered. I had to listen to "Memories Can't Wait" a few times just to make sure it's not remixed or something!

...and as you say, excellent OGG quality!

    Many Thanks.

  9. Hey you anono , you obviously haven't got the required Homeland Security clearance. So instead of namedropping you should email Homeland Security and apply for clearance to open ogg files. It shouldnt be a problem, afterall ogg files aren't that secret.
