Sundaze 1626

Hello, on the Euro's, 2 disappointing quaterfinals one lacked quality best equipped there Wales sent their Northern Ireland rivals home 1-0. Croatia vs Portugal could have been a great match but Portugal played for penalties from the start and Croatia  didn't dare to go full on attack, playmaker Modric was not in best form and so everything happened in the final 5 minutes Croatia hit the post and from the resulting counter Ronaldo had his first shot on goal in the 117h minute the keeper held, but the ball went straight into the path of Quaresma 1-0 Rarely did i witness a such an undeserved win by a team who should have had at least 1 if not 2 men send off, nasty lot those Portugese. Idiot referee too. Uefa should give at least one red card in retrospect.  Poland was lucky in the end in an entertaining game with the Swiss, penalties there's always a sucker this time he was Swiss.. The whole Euro set up has resulted in a bottom half of the draw teams having collected 20 EU and World titles and the 8 top half teams collected none. Totally uneven, but hey those UEFA clowns were still run by that greedy Platini at the time, they thought up this set up whilst those that suggested a much more sensible 8x3 set up got snubbed by the as usual arrogant French.

Today's artist is the main project of Christopher von Deylen, a German electronic music composer who produces music which can be considered trance and ambient. Since he himself does not sing on his tracks, he often collaborates with other famous singers in the electronic genre.    ........N'Joy

Schiller started as a duo, formed by Christopher von Deylen and Mirko von Schlieffen in 1998. The first single of the band was "Glockenspiel", with great success in Germany. On 19 August 1999, their first full album, Zeitgeist, was launched, focusing in club and dance music. It was followed by Weltreise, which was released on 30 July 2001. This album featured the single "Dream of You" (with Peter Heppner), which won the ECHO award in 2002 for the Best Dance Single of the Year.

Since Schlieffen wanted to focus mostly in trance music, while Deylen wanted a more eclectic electronica, the duo split after their second album Weltreise. The third studio album, Leben, was issued on 13 October 2003. It included the popular single "Leben... I Feel You", featuring Peter Heppner. Artists like Peter Heppner (from Wolfsheim), Maya Saban, Sarah Brightman, Alexander Veljanov (from Deine Lakaien), Kim Sanders, and Mila Mar performed vocals on this album.

Leben was followed by Tag und Nacht, released on 28 October 2005. Mike Oldfield, Moya Brennan, Kim Sanders, Jette van Roth, and Thomas D. collaborated on Tag und Night. Schiller's fifth album, Sehnsucht (Desire) was announced in December 2007 and later released on 22 February 2008. Sehnsucht was simultaneously released in two formats and in three editions. Over 100,000 copies of Sehnsucht have been sold since the release of the album. It has received a golden certification. Sehnsucht was internationally released under the name Desire on 26 May 2008.

Schiller also collaborated with Colbie Caillat on "You" which was released in 2008, both of them appear in the accompanying video. Same year Schiller produced another successful single called "Time For Dreams" with the Chinese pianist Lang Lang. The song was used by the German TV channel ZDF during the 2008 Olympic games in Beijing.

Schiller's sixth studio album, Atemlos (Breathless), was released in 12 of March 2010. It debuted on second position on German Charts and was the highest entry for a domestic album for the week.[6] The English edition of the album Atemlos reached until number 3 in the chart of IFPI in Greece. The single "Try" featured Nadia Ali. On 5 October 2012, the seventh studio album, Sonne (Sun), was released. The next album was Opus, issued on 30 August 2013.

Christopher von Deylen does not provide any vocals for Schiller productions himself. Vocals are sung by guest artists including Samu Haber of Sunrise Avenue, Sarah Brightman, Moya Brennan of Clannad, Adam Young of Owl City, Andrea Corr of The Corrs, Colbie Caillat, Sarah Howells of Welsh emotional folk / indie band Paper Aeroplanes, Ben Becker, Peter Heppner of synthpop band Wolfsheim, MiLù - also known as Mila Mar, Xavier Naidoo, Arlissa, Maya Saban, Kim Sanders formerly of Culture Beat, Ana Torroja of the Spanish pop group Mecano, Tarja Turunen formerly of power metal group Nightwish, Despina Vandi, Alexander Veljanov of Darkwave group Deine Lakaien, Swedish singer September, French voice artist Pierre Maubouché.

Other musicians that have collaborated with Schiller include Anggun, Lang Lang, Klaus Schulze, Mike Oldfield, Helen Boulding, Kate Havnevik, Damae of Fragma, Jaël of Swiss band Lunik, Stephenie Coker and German actress Anna Maria Mühe. Many of Schiller's albums take over a year to receive a North American release. Until 2008 several of Schiller's tracks were re-recorded with English replacing German lyrics.

There's little that the dreamy, new age intro vibes to Schiller's Zeitgeist (Spirit of the Age)  LP can do to take the edge off of the über-German spoken word bits that hover atop of them. The first album by Schiller is very different from what his upcoming albums bring, for me this is the most relaxing release by Schiller, you'll need to love the use of the German voices, its a beautiful language that express strengh and self-confidence, most of the musics have pleaseant melodies with a good selection of sounds and a terapeutic rhythms. "Das Glockenspiel" stands out.Taking their name from the German poet Friedrich Schiller, the lyrics translated for the sleeve are not in any way on par with that great German poet. This beginning didn't really foreshadow the huge success that was to come in their homecountry Germany and beyond. But then remember 1999 it was all about Y2K...

The second album is an introduction for what Schiller will produce in his upcoming albums. Unlike the first album, this one brings full vocal songs as well as new kind of music and new voices which Schiller explores. This is definitely a powerful release, with very emotional and relaxing music, music that through its sounds, melodys and some vocals will evoke different kind of places and cultures, "Weltreise" is a selection of music with pure and clean sounds, perfect to enter your ears and mind with Smooth and a sense of massage. The music is largely painted with rich hypercolor, lots of fertile blues and jades, but stacked with vocalists who, like Kim Sanders in the pop-leaning "Dancing With Loneliness," tend to weigh down the plush ideals of the band's not unpleasant energies. When the instrumentals take precedence, Schiller reasserts itself as a self-important electronic act that really should be nothing else. "Solitude," and in fact much of the album, may as well be Enigma's "Sadeness" with island trimmings instead of Gregorian frost.

German trance-pop sensation Schiller continued to build upon its amazing success with Leben, the Christopher von Deylen-led act's third album and most streamlined yet. Building upon the success of the hit single "Dream of You" from Schiller's previous album, Voyage, von Deylen loads up Leben with a number of similarly styled trance-pop songs sung in heavily accented English. In addition to vocalist Peter Heppner, who'd sung "Dream of You," there is a return appearance by Kim Sanders and features for additional English-singing vocalists: Mila Mar, Alexander Veljanov, Maya Saban, and contemporary classical queen Sarah Brightman. The results are unsurprising. Von Deylen doesn't try anything especially new or adventurous over the course of Leben; rather, he sticks to the formula that has proven so successful for him, namely light trance highlighted by occasional poetic pop-song moments. The sort of trance produced by von Deylen drifts back and forth between meditative new age soundscape and effortless downtempo dance music, and the pop-song moments are sparse and simple, just as light as the music itself. A heap of comparisons have been tagged upon Schiller over the years, especially in international markets like North America (where Schiller is likened to Enigma and Deep Forest, misleadingly), but von Deylen really is blazing his own trail here, albeit a rather unadventurous one. What began for him in the late '90s as streamlined trance accented by German spoken word poetry (hence the Schiller moniker) has at this point evolved toward highly accessible trance-pop that is more inclined toward soothing candle-lit home listening than sweaty danceclub fodder. As such, it may seem downright alien to most North Americans, who never really took to trance, let alone dance music in general, like Europeans did beginning in the '90s. And for this reason, the emphasis on English-language vocals seems odd. Because Schiller is primarily a German phenomenon, and to a lesser extent a European one, and is likely to remain so, why not stick with the native language? In any event, Leben isn't an easily categorizable album and will likely appeal to a very select audience that is partial to either home-listening trance or dancey new age -- or else those genuinely intrigued by where von Deylen is steering Schiller, that is, further toward by-the-numbers trance-pop.

The first of a by now series of 10 prologues meant to create the right atmosphere before a gig this first one here warmed the public on Schillers Leben tour aptly named 'erleben' (to experience). To be honest here there's plenty here to call it epilogue too. No trance just ambience...
