Hello, today the 25 th post of GoldyRhox, classic pop rock. A fuse popped earlier bringing a tiresomely download to an untimely end and as everything crashed. As i sat in the dark i wondered what was going on last month i had to replace 2 lamps and even the whole 'designer' lamp had burned out the dimmer, the new simple lamp didnt work too long either and the latest.well poof ! All this on exactly the same location mind you. Odd
Earlier today as i was re-editing my postings list to a more viewable format i came across some dead links that got looked over last september, from Rhotation 47 Rachid Taha and The Sound Of The Jam both have been re-upped and life once more.
Most of the albums i 'll post made many millions for the music industry and a lot of what i intend to post still gets repackaged and remastered decades later, squeezing the last drop of profit out of bands that for the most part have ceased to exist long ago, although sometimes they get lured out of the mothballs to do a big bucks gig or tour. Now i'm not as naive to post this kinda music for all to see and have deleted, these will be a black box posts, i'm sorry for those on limited bandwidth but for most of you a gamble will get you a quality rip don't like it, deleting is just 2 clicks...That said i will try to accomodate somewhat and produce some cryptic info on the artist and or album.
Todays mystery album was released in October 76 and despite selling 5 million copies it took 25 years for this cd version to be released, asleep at the wheel those music bizz fat cats. The dark, sprawling suites from the previous albums disappeared in favor of shorter, more accessible songs which energized the band. Despite their brevity, the new compositions still retained much of the classically-inspired complexity (prog). Anyway it produced their first hit single and as such kept them in business. The album that followed had an ever bigger hitsingle, one that even managed a gold download status 30 years after its initial hitsuccess. maybe not as surprising as it's a great contemplative burial track The band stems from the socalled American heartland and named themselves after the 34th American State, located right in the center of the US. They still tour on and of but have scored no more gold albums after 1980. But hey for sure they realize that all we are is dust in the wind.
