RhoDeo 1419 Beats

Hello,

Today the French rule of the beats comes to an end, and it does so with an artist that didn't need a french niche but being part of the global DJ force that's dominating the Anglo - American dance music industry for a change. All though here as in many places the amount of money that is flying around is despicable, i know it's the result of mindless 'printing' of money, it has to go somewhere. Buying up DJ's or Big Pharma competition it's all the same sick mindset that runs through US corporate culture. This here is about a French DJ who for a short time maneged to breakthrough the Dutch domination of XTC Dance ah yes, off cause he had some of the right genes for the US media, e presto sales skyrocket in it's wake the Grammy's follow and he even made it passed Armin van Buuren for one year (2011). But here today David's work from the days the big bucks were still illusionairy......N'joy

Pierre David Guetta (born November 7, 1967), known commonly by his stage name David Guetta, is a French house producer and disc jockey. Originally a DJ at nightclubs during the 1980s and 1990s, he co-founded Gum Productions and released his first album, Just a Little More Love, in 2002. Later, he released Guetta Blaster (2004) and Pop Life (2007). Guetta achieved mainstream success with his 2009 album One Love which included the hit singles "When Love Takes Over", "Gettin' Over You", "Sexy Bitch", all three of which reached #1.

Guetta's carefree attitude -- that he only produces good music while he's having casual fun -- kept the DJ from releasing anything until 2001's "Just a Little More Love." The track featured American gospel singer Chris Willis, who met Guetta while on vacation in France. Another slow burner, "Just a Little More Love," kept popping up in sets for the next two years, first in an electro version and later in a pumped-up Wally Lopez remix. During this time, Guetta snuck out a bootleg remix of David Bowie's "Heroes," retitled "Just for One Day." Bowie gave the go-ahead to release the track officially, and Guetta soon had a massive hit on his hands. Guetta featured the liberated boot on his first mix CD, Fuck Me I'm Famous, named after Guetta's successful Ibiza-based party.

The fun-loving slacker DJ finally got around to releasing a collection of his own productions in 2004, Just a Little More Love on Astralwerks. Guetta's second album, Guetta Blaster on which Chris Willis sang lead vocals, was released in 2004 as well. It spawned four singles: "Money" and "Stay" featuring Chris Willis and "The World Is Mine" and "In Love With Myself" featuring JD Davis. In 2006 the Just a Little More Love single "Love Don't Let Me Go" was re-released as a mash-up with the Tocadisco remix of "Walking Away" by The Egg. The mash-up single entitled "Love Don't Let Me Go (Walking Away)" was charted higher than the original release of the song.

In 2007, Guetta's third album Pop Life was released. The album was successful in the UK and Ireland as well as in mainland Europe. According to EMI in 2010, the album has sold a total of 530,000 copies worldwide. The lead single "Love Is Gone" reached Number 1 on the American Dance Chart and charted on the Billboard Hot 100. "Delirious" featured the vocals of Tara McDonald who also co wrote the record. The song was released as the album's fourth single on January 31, 2008. He played in many countries around the world to promote the album. He played in Mauritius in January 2008, accompanied by French rapper JoeyStarr. In the same year, he and his wife Cathy also planned a new event which took place in the Stade de France on 5 July 2008. The event was called "UNIGHTED", he performed with Tiƫsto, Carl Cox, Joachim Garraud and Martin Solveig in front of a crowd of 40,000.

Fuck Me I'm Famous: International, Vol. 2 was then released in July 2008, giving listeners a taste of the stylish sounds that orchestrated Guetta's summer club events in Ibiza. A year later he released One Love, a platinum-selling album featuring the singles "When Love Takes Over" with Kelly Rowland, “Sexy Bitch” with Akon, and "Gettin' Over" with Chris Willis. As of May 2011 the album had sold three million copies worldwide. In 2010 Guetta received five nominations at the 52nd Grammy Awards, two of them related to the One Love album and the other three for his work on the Black Eyed Peas’ massive worldwide hit “I Gotta Feeling.” That same year, One Love was reissued as One More Love, featuring a bonus disc of remixes and new tracks.

Guetta's fifth studio album, Nothing But The Beat was released on 30 August 2011. It was released as a double-disc album; one disc being vocal and the other being electronic. Guetta was inspired by rock bands such as Kings of Leon and Coldplay to add rock influences to his dance productions. "Where Them Girls At" featuring Flo Rida and Nicki Minaj, the first single off the album, was released worldwide on 2 May 2011."Little Bad Girl", with Taio Cruz and Ludacris, was released as the second single on 28 June 2011. The third single, "Without You" with Usher, was released on 27 September 2011. Also that year, David teamed up with Afrojack and Tara McDonald again to release "Pandemonium" on his FMIF Ibiza Mix 2011 compilation through EMI records

A re-release of Nothing but the Beat, titled Nothing but the Beat 2.0, was released on September 7, 2012. The first single from the album, "She Wolf (Falling to Pieces)", which saw Guetta collaborate with Sia yet again, was released in support of the album. The next single off Nothing But The Beat 2.0 has been confirmed by Guetta as "Just One Last Time" which features vocals from Swedish duo Taped Rai. In 2012, Guetta also made an album named Nothing But The Beat: Ultimate, which combined the two albums Nothing But The Beat and Nothing But The Beat 2.0 together. Nothing But the Beat is also a feature-length biographical documentary about David Guetta and his rise to fame, featuring many of his collaborators.

In 2012, Guetta created a new record label known as Jack Back Records (named after whom he has collaborated with in the song "Wild One Two"), where he intends to focus only on electronic music releases (compared to the dance pop style he's most known for). All of the label's releases can be found on Beatport. Whilst on tour with Rihanna, he debuted his new track at Twickenham Stadium on 15 June 2013. The single, called "Ain't a Party", and it was released on July 8, 2013. On September 26, 2013, Guetta unveiled the music video for new track "One Voice" featuring indie singer Mikky Ekko. It will be released on November 4 as part of the UN's humanitarian campaign called The World Needs More.

Guetta co-wrote and produced the song "Fashion!" on Lady Gaga's third studio album Artpop. He also had songwriting and production contributions to Britney Spears' eighth studio album Britney Jean. On January 20, 2014, Guetta released his new single "Shot Me Down" featuring American singer Skylar Grey. It is an adaption of the Nancy Sinatra song "Bang Bang". The song is co-produced by Giorgio Tuinfort. On February 25, 2014, Guetta released a remix of Avicii's track "Addicted to You" on Beatport. On March 17, 2014, he released a track featuring a collaboration with Showtek and Vassy "BAD" on Jack Back Records.

Yes David has been busy and in between managed to father two kids as well with his wife Cathy. I guess sponsorship from an energydrink makes sense then.

The first rule of house music is functionality, and celebrated French DJ David Guetta is a master of dancefloor pragmatics. The second rule is hooks, and he's got those as well -- in fact, his music is unusually interesting for the genre and generally as much fun to listen to as it is to dance to. His second album is being released in the U.S. on the heels of significant success in his home country, and for its Stateside release is enhanced by the addition of several bonus tracks including his hit "Love Don't Let Me Go" (in a mash-up mix by the Egg). The guest vocalist on seven tracks is the golden-throated Chris Willis, and other featured guests include the Stereo MC's (on the dark and almost industrial-sounding "Open Your Eyes") and Jamaican vocalist Miss Thing (on the weird but ultimately rather uninteresting "Last Train"). Willis is responsible for most of the album's highlight tracks, including the downright funky "Stay," the brilliant "Love Don't Let Me Go" (which is more than slightly evocative of Erasure at their best) and "Just a Little More Love," another massive French hit that is a welcome addition to the U.S. version of this release. The punk-kitsch sound of "Money" is curious but fun, and Paul Oakenfold's mix of "The World Is Mine" ends things on a powerfully funky note.

Poplife was a turning point in David Guetta's career. It made the French DJ's fame truly global by giving him his first number one dance hit stateside: a collaboration with the always fresh Chris Willis forever to be known as "Love Is Gone." Other singles that burned up the dancefloor were "Baby When the Lights" and "Everytime We Touch," though it was not the same recording as the one of the same name by Euro-pop group Cascada. The strength of the beats on Poplife made Guetta a recognizable name in the United States, and gave him the platform on which he could build relationships, and ultimately, form collaborations, with A-List pop artists, as he did on his next album, One Love.

The album title One Love is not only a complete turnaround from David Guetta's usual credo, radio show moniker, and mix album title -- F*** Me I'm Famous! -- it's also a misrepresentation if meant to infer "unity." This album is more a jumble of tracks than any previous releases from the house producer, with one selection, "I Gotta Feeling," officially a Black Eyed Peas song that Guetta produced. Still, the strength of the material is undeniable, especially the almost trance-like opener, "When Loves Takes Over," which steals a riff from Coldplay and adds the powerful voice of Kelly Rowland to produce a grand, uplifting floor-filler. The herky-jerky electro-house that's his signature is in effect on "Gettin' Over," a cut that also features the gospel-trained and gospel-huge voice of frequent Guetta guest Chris Willis. Akon and guilty pleasure lyrics ("She's nothing like a girl you've ever seen before/Nothing you can compare to your neighborhood whore") make for a perfect match on "Sexy Bitch," then a handful of B or B-plus material fills the middle before the BEP cut and Estelle's uplifting title track take it to another level. Even if everything seems built for the 12" format and then landed on an album anyway, Guetta's fans get all the well-done house music they desire, and then some.
